***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below! ***
Clearly I’m not the only one who loves a good writing utensil (and Target card) as this giveaway reached our 10,000 entry cap within just 24 hours. Nice work team! So that means we get to crown a winner early. That lucky writer is… Heather F (who “writes notes on the back of envelopes and then loses them. Argh.”) Congrats Heather!
This sounds kinda weird, but I’m very particular about my writing tools. So when the folks at Pilot noticed that we tend to write with their products, they wanted to thank us by passing some freebies along. But you know we don’t take them, so we’re paying it forward in the form of a $500 prize to one of you. Now, before you start figuring out what the heck you’re gonna do with $500 worth of pens – let me stop you. While they’ll keep your hands busy with a variety of pens and highlighters (even some erasable varieties) they’re also gonna let our lucky winner pick out $150 worth of Levenger notebooks and organizers (since we could all use a little organization this time of year). Oh, and to round out the $500 prize, how does a $200 Target gift card sound? That way you can pick up any other items you need to get 2013 off to a productive and organized start.
- PRIZE: An assortment of Pilot products plus $150 towards the Levenger notebooks of your choice and a $200 Target gift card (total value $500).
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PILOT ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … your favorite way to take notes or scribble down a message. Do you always keep a ballpoint pen in your pocket or purse? Do you swear by pencils so that you can erase your misspellings? Or are you 100% digital and prefer to rely on phone apps and voice memos to keep you organized?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 16th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States and Canada.
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of

Pilot Me!! I used my planner religiously, but since I got my first smart phone in Sept. I have been realizing (grudgingly) how convenient that is.

PILOT ME please! I love using Notes on my Mac or phone as it syncs the lists nicely. However, there is nothing better than a to-do list on paper!
Laura says
Pilot me! I love black pens and taking notes in class and jotting things down at home. I prefer pen/paper to my cell phone!
Kim R. says
PILOT ME…I love lists and especially crossing off what I’ve completed. Nothing beats a pilot pen in getting the job done right. Since we’ve just moved from Virginia to Washington state, I’ll need more pens and products for making lists and planning how to decorate and organize my new abode. Oh the opportunities for making new lists.

PILOT ME! I have pens stashed everywhere – kitchen, desk, bedroom, purse and about half as many notepads. While I use digital tools for anything I can, there is still just so much more satisfaction in crossing off a to do list in PEN!

i love writing everything down- gives it a sense of permeance/importance… nothing beats writing stuff down with a good old trusty #2 pencil, but i have to admit that i use my pilot pens, highlighters, and sharpies to color code everything in my planner… love love love office supplies! i’ve tried to go digital, but to no avail.

PILOT ME!!!!!
i typically have a pen or sharpie on hand, which i use to take notes on post-its, which go into my wallet, and at the end of the day i enter all notes in my phone. then i email the note to myself, and it stays in the inbox until it’s resolved. because i have a smartphone, my email is always with me, so i can reference my shopping list, to-dos, whatever at the drop of a hat.

There is only one kind of pen I carry with me at all times, for taking notes for class or just jotting things down. It’s the Pilot Precise Rolling Ball V5 Extra Fine. Who knew I’d be so picky about writing utensils!
Sarah says
PILOT ME! I actually love writeing notes on the back of my hand! But that’s not always the best thing, so I try to rely on my calendar on my phone. Those pens and organizer look great – I think they would help me get organized!
Patty says
PILOT ME!
I’m a teacher, so I love all types of pens and pencils (except maybe mechanical ones…they break too much for me.) I correct papers with brightly colored pens (just not red.) And I take notes everywhere: phone, pieces of paper, envelopes, computer, etc.
And I draw too!
celia says
PILOT ME! I have an app on my kindle fire for taking notes…but most of the time I pull out pen & paper. I even keep a little notebook and pen in my purse.

Love ink and journals. I am old fashioned and think penmanship is a craft.
Nicole says
Pilot me!
I love pens. And pencils – mostly mechanical as I can never find a pencil sharpener when I need one! And journals. There is something wonderful about making what I’m thinking tangible. I don’t think I could ever go 100% digital.
Zandra says
PILOT ME!
I make lists on my iPhone, but I go through the Pilot G-2 pens like wildfire at work! They’re awesome — I don’t use any other kind.
Liz says

PILOT ME
I go back and forth between old school and new school for taking notes…when I’m really, really stressed out and scattered there is nothing better than a spiral bound, journal-style notebook, for plotting out my to-do’s. Pen-wise? Pretty much a ball point girl.
Rachel says
Pilot me!
The hoarder in me loves writing down important notes and appointments in a datebook (I sometimes save the books if it was a memorable year!)…but I admit, I’m trying to use my smartphone for all its capabilities. And of course, there’s ALWAYS a pen in my bag….but pencils only for school & exams :)
Shannon Y. says
PILOT ME! The Teux Deux app is my new fave, although it’s hard to beat a pen and post-it.
Jeff says
Pilot me!
I’ve gone all digital – I need this as I NEVER have pens on me! I’m always left looking in every drawer when I need a pen!
Please hook me up!
Chelsea Wilson says
Pilot me! I keep notes, lists, etc. in an app on mr phone that mt husband can also access from his phone so both of us always have the grocery list just a few clicks away!

anne says
Pilot me! I’m old-fashioned and write everything in a planner. Thanks for the opportunity!
Allison N. says
PILOT ME! I’m obsessed with Gel Pens. I hoard the red ones in my purse so my hubby doesn’t take them to work and lose them. I have my day planner–which I’m currently in the market for a new one. And I also keep a Moleskin for ideas, a master to do list, info about my house (room size) and family (clothing, shoe sizes, etc.) I would love this prize!
Chelsea Wilson says
Pilot me! I keep notes at work on pretty little sticky pads all over my desk!
Emily says
Pilot me! I love using a pen and notepad.
BJ says
Pilot me!
I’ve been able to finally give up my paper planner and gone digital… however… I’ve always been a pen snob! Spending too much time trying to pick my next one out!
Kelley says
Pilot me!
I keep a pen (or two, or three) in my bag, my purse, my car, my bedside table–really, anywhere I might possibly have an idea that I need to record. One of my goals this year was to shift to using my phone for my to-do list, but the old-fashioned technology of pen and paper makes me happy. And more organized.
Sandye says
PILOT ME!
I am still searching for my perfect pen. I put regular cheapie blue ballpoint pens in the penholder at work because people walk off with them.
jackie says
Pilot me! Pens all the way!
Angie says
PILOT ME!
I like an open flip-style notepad and ball point pen near me at all times. Old school.
Amy G says
PILOT ME!
I use Evernote on my phone, iPad, Mac and work PC. But sometimes it still can’t beat a pen and paper.
Angela DQ says
PILOT ME!
Pilot Precise V5 pens are all I use. Even in the digital age- list making with regular old ink and paper still works out better for me!
