Clearly I’m not the only one who loves a good writing utensil (and Target card) as this giveaway reached our 10,000 entry cap within just 24 hours. Nice work team! So that means we get to crown a winner early. That lucky writer is… Heather F (who “writes notes on the back of envelopes and then loses them. Argh.”) Congrats Heather!
This sounds kinda weird, but I’m very particular about my writing tools. So when the folks at Pilot noticed that we tend to write with their products, they wanted to thank us by passing some freebies along. But you know we don’t take them, so we’re paying it forward in the form of a $500 prize to one of you. Now, before you start figuring out what the heck you’re gonna do with $500 worth of pens – let me stop you. While they’ll keep your hands busy with a variety of pens and highlighters (even some erasable varieties) they’re also gonna let our lucky winner pick out $150 worth of Levenger notebooks and organizers (since we could all use a little organization this time of year). Oh, and to round out the $500 prize, how does a $200 Target gift card sound? That way you can pick up any other items you need to get 2013 off to a productive and organized start.
- PRIZE: An assortment of Pilot products plus $150 towards the Levenger notebooks of your choice and a $200 Target gift card (total value $500).
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PILOT ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … your favorite way to take notes or scribble down a message. Do you always keep a ballpoint pen in your pocket or purse? Do you swear by pencils so that you can erase your misspellings? Or are you 100% digital and prefer to rely on phone apps and voice memos to keep you organized?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 16th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States and Canada.
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of

I’m a pencil girl and it has to be sharp. When I’m writing letters though I prefer ballpoint, am I crazy or do they make messy handwriting look better?
Leslie says
Pilot Me! As much as I’d like to be digital with my organization, I still prefer pen and paper for my notes and list. I always have both in my purse.
Cindy says
PILOT ME!
I like to use pens when taking notes. I’ll write important words/headings twice or three times to make them look bold. I also doodle stars all around the margins. :)
Serena says
Pilot me. My fave pens are for journals, addressing envelopes and drawing with sharpies all over greeting cards, I’m pretty digital for my notes but nothing could take the accomplished feeling of pen meeting paper.

I love everything about a new planner and set of pens. I only recently started using the Notepad feature on my iPhone, but I much prefer handwriting my plans/to-do list/agenda. There’s also nothing like a newly sharpened pencil with a perfect eraser.

Shannah H says
Pilot me! I’m a #2 pencil girl all the way, though I also love using Pentel’s Sign Pen when I want to write permanently.

PILOT ME please :) I am unfortunately not that organized. I used to swear by my paper planner, but then I went digital, well half digital, and I just can’t find a program I love enough to commit. Back to paper y’all! Haha

Pilot me! I am a mixed note taker. I keep a paper planner with my levenger ballpoint but I like evermore for keeping my classroom and research notes (I am a history teacher)

As a Paralegal who is single mother of three ,I am the ball point pen and sticky fanatic. I love using different colors to help remind me of all the demands of my day. I would totally forget something or someone without these!
Susan S. says
Pilot Me!!
My memory is horrible so I use digital apps/calendars for birthdays and events and the rest of the time I’m a mad scribbler. I have oodles of pens, pencils and markers stashed everywhere for when I need to jot something down. Purses, jacket pockets, hidden in drawers, corralled in fancy and not so fancy containers.
Melissa says

liz brobst says
PILOT ME!! I am a list maker too, and I love the old fashioned pen and paper style. Thanks!
Erin says
PILOT ME! When it comes to lists and note-taking, i’m anti-digital. I keep a notebook in the kitchen drawer (you know the one) and pull it out whenever i need to jot something down. If it’s a shopping list, i’ll write it along the edge and rip that section out when i need it, keeping the rest of the page which probably contains some ridiculous quote from my toddler :)
Mollie R says
PILOT ME! I always have at least 5 or more pens floating around in my bag- you can never have too many!
NiCole says
PILOT ME!
I actually think I have every color of that first pilot pen in the pic above! Love em!
Marti says
Pilot me!
As a first year teacher in a small school district, I came in with only $125 for the year from my PTO to spend on classroom supplies, organizers, decorations, storage, etc. Needless to say, this didn’t stretch very far. This sure could go a long way in my room! My students use all sorts of supplies, but their absolute fav is highlighters. They would write in highlighter all day if possible!
Thanks!
