Clearly I’m not the only one who loves a good writing utensil (and Target card) as this giveaway reached our 10,000 entry cap within just 24 hours. Nice work team! So that means we get to crown a winner early. That lucky writer is… Heather F (who “writes notes on the back of envelopes and then loses them. Argh.”) Congrats Heather!
This sounds kinda weird, but I’m very particular about my writing tools. So when the folks at Pilot noticed that we tend to write with their products, they wanted to thank us by passing some freebies along. But you know we don’t take them, so we’re paying it forward in the form of a $500 prize to one of you. Now, before you start figuring out what the heck you’re gonna do with $500 worth of pens – let me stop you. While they’ll keep your hands busy with a variety of pens and highlighters (even some erasable varieties) they’re also gonna let our lucky winner pick out $150 worth of Levenger notebooks and organizers (since we could all use a little organization this time of year). Oh, and to round out the $500 prize, how does a $200 Target gift card sound? That way you can pick up any other items you need to get 2013 off to a productive and organized start.
- PRIZE: An assortment of Pilot products plus $150 towards the Levenger notebooks of your choice and a $200 Target gift card (total value $500).
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PILOT ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … your favorite way to take notes or scribble down a message. Do you always keep a ballpoint pen in your pocket or purse? Do you swear by pencils so that you can erase your misspellings? Or are you 100% digital and prefer to rely on phone apps and voice memos to keep you organized?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 16th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States and Canada.
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of

PILOT ME
I have a small book that I carry around in my purse. Lists of what to look for when I’m shopping for the house, groceries, knitting needs, furnace filter size… I use a sharpie fine point, but sometimes it smudges when I’m in a hurry. This give-away would be perfect for me!

First of all you should know I seriously love pens! It is an addiction, as in I probably need a support group! I take endless notes both personally and professionally. I would give these lovely pens, pencils and notebooks a lovely home and I could write down all the fun things I find at Target!! Thanks much!!
SuziM says
Pilot me! I LOVE a good pen and currently have no organization for 2013. Yikes! This would get me organized for sure! I take notes on paper, but have noticed my kids (teens) put everything on their phones.
Julie says
PILOT ME! I have a notebook that is always near me that I’ve named “my brain” and I use it for lists and organizing. Love colored pens for writing in it, especially those with what I call good “flow”. Ironically, as homeschoolers, we never can seem to find our pens and pencils. What’s up with that? Then we go harvesting inside couches and it’s just like shopping the office supply aisle at Target! This would be a fun prize to win.

Depends on where I am. If I’m at work I like to scribble notes on a print out of the Outlook calendar of the day. I prefer Sharpie pens, but I settle for whatever blue pens the office provides.
Personally I make most of my notes digitally. Either using Evernote or Google Drive.

I LOVE Pilot pens. So much, that when work stopped stocking them, I went out and bought my own! Its a little OCD, but what do you expect from an accountant. :)

I have been trying to go digital because I make far too many lists, but I still have stickies up everywhere. When not on my phone, I prefer pencils because I have a tendency to doodle on my notes and lists.
Lisa H says
Pilot me please! My lists look great in ink or pencil. There’s just something about the solid feel of writing on paper that electronics can’t replace.
Michelle says
PILOT ME! I use paper and pen to make lists of everything.

PILOT ME! I’m a full-time college student so I’m always writing and taking notes. I stay organized by constantly writing down information in my daily planner. I always make sure to have a great pen in each of my notebooks and my purse!
dana says
PILOT ME! Hi – I’m pretty particular as well with what I write with and making sure I have a small cute notebook with me at all times. Because you never know when you’re going to have to write a thought down, or remember to look something up later. I prefer purple razor point and notebooks from Barnes and Noble. But, I use something different for each different notebook I have….a little crazy, but we all have our things. I also always have post-its with me. They’re so handy when I want to mark pages in a book.

I like a good permanent marker for labeling. A mechanical pencil for writing things that will need lots of changes. And colored pencils for shading in maps.

While much more of my life is digitized these days (smart phone just make it so easy!), I still love me a good handwritten to-do list. Give me any extra fine point pen or pencil and I’m in heaven!
Jann Newton says
Pilot me! I write notes the old fashioned way, with a ball point pen.
Lauren W says
PILOT ME! I’m very particular about pens as well – love blue ballpoint ones, and I hate writing in two different colors on one list. I make a lot of lists, otherwise nothing would get done around my house!
Susan says

Alina says
Pilot Me! I tend to jot notes down on scrap paper, post its, old receipts, back of business cards. Suffice to say I could be more organized about it.

Lauren says
PILOT ME! I looooooove Pilot pens – especially the G-2. I’ve have them in an assortment of colors! As much as a love technology and finding fun apps to keep me organized – i’m a sucker for a good pen and piece of paper. :) The Pilot G-2 is definitely my go-to pen!

I love pens and making lists….I always carry a couple in my purse and they are floating all over my house. There is just something about writing things down that I love vs. typing it in my phone or on my computer.
