Clearly I’m not the only one who loves a good writing utensil (and Target card) as this giveaway reached our 10,000 entry cap within just 24 hours. Nice work team! So that means we get to crown a winner early. That lucky writer is… Heather F (who “writes notes on the back of envelopes and then loses them. Argh.”) Congrats Heather!
This sounds kinda weird, but I’m very particular about my writing tools. So when the folks at Pilot noticed that we tend to write with their products, they wanted to thank us by passing some freebies along. But you know we don’t take them, so we’re paying it forward in the form of a $500 prize to one of you. Now, before you start figuring out what the heck you’re gonna do with $500 worth of pens – let me stop you. While they’ll keep your hands busy with a variety of pens and highlighters (even some erasable varieties) they’re also gonna let our lucky winner pick out $150 worth of Levenger notebooks and organizers (since we could all use a little organization this time of year). Oh, and to round out the $500 prize, how does a $200 Target gift card sound? That way you can pick up any other items you need to get 2013 off to a productive and organized start.
- PRIZE: An assortment of Pilot products plus $150 towards the Levenger notebooks of your choice and a $200 Target gift card (total value $500).
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PILOT ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … your favorite way to take notes or scribble down a message. Do you always keep a ballpoint pen in your pocket or purse? Do you swear by pencils so that you can erase your misspellings? Or are you 100% digital and prefer to rely on phone apps and voice memos to keep you organized?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 16th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States and Canada.
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

I love lists…whiteboard lists, paper lists, “stickies” on my Mac, planner lists. These days I’m partial to felt tip pens.

I love a good Roller Pen, writes like a fountain pen, but no mess! I have an assortment of sticky notes that I use depending on the task I need to tackle. Nothing like crossing something off a handwritten list!
Erin D says
PILOT ME!
I keep 2 different pads of paper by my computer at work…and several in a drawer in the kitchen. Though I like the portability of having lists on my phone, I still prefer to jot them down with a pen – typically a good gel pen.
Chelsea says
PILOT ME!
Im an avid sticky noter so pens needed!

Wendi says
PILOT ME! I prefer writing with a pen when taking notes, especially at work. But I still prefer to keep a paper calendar AND only write on it in pencil. Doing it this way feeds the soul of my inner nerd. :)
Devon says
PILOT ME! I’m a pen and paper kinda girl. Ball point, felt tip, just as long as it feels good ha. But the best feeling? Crossing something off the To Do list! No amount of strike out font can match that <3
Stacey S says
PILOT ME! I also prefer Pilot pens and use them at work and on the go! (I.E. in my purse!) My favorites are the precise V5. My go to pen! Great colors and write wonderful.

Melissa says
Pilot Me!
I always have a notebook of some sort to take down notes, and I’ve been known to scribble something down with whatever is in reach – crayon, pencil, eye liner…
But when I have to pick, I always choose Pilot. I love their pens, and I have the supplies department at work order boxes of Pilot retractables for me specifically!
Jenny says
Pilot me!
I’m generally a digital note-taker, but in times of stress I turn to pen and paper. For example, today I’m making a pen and paper list of what to pack in my hospital bag.
Kelly says
PILOT ME!!
I’m addicted to Pilot Precise Roller Ball, which I keep in my purse with an old fashions composition notebook. It’s handy to keep everything in one place!
Danielle says
PILOT ME!! I love making lists and crossing things off. Nothing helps to make you feel productive like crossing stuff off the list :)
Rachel says
PILOT ME! I like the super sharp ball-point pens the best, but definitely old-school. It’s just not the same otherwise.
Pam the Goatherd says
PILOT ME!
I’m definitely a pen and paper kind of girl. I carry a couple ballpoints in my purse that I brought home from a fancy hotel where my husband and I stay once a year for a convention we always attend. Every time I use that pen I think of the fun we have on that trip and look forward to the next time (and a new pen).
Stefanie says
PILOT ME….
I’m an English teacher, so I’m super fussy about my pens. You can’t mark a stack of essays without a good pen. Oh, and I LOVE Levenger. Some people want to live in the imaginary world of the Pottery Barn catalogue; I want to live inside the imaginary world of the Levenger catalogue.
Laura says
PILOT ME!
I am a pens girl through & through. & Pilots are some of the best! Thanks for the fab giveaway!

Lisa W. says
PILOT ME!
I am an attorney and I am constantly taking notes in meetings, on calls, etc. I am also constantly doodling around these notes (can’t help it, lol). My office just has boring blue office pens, I would love some variety to make my note-taking a little more fun! :)

PILOT ME! I’m mostly a digital note taker, but my dad has used nothing but pilot pens for years and so when I need a pen it’s usually a pilot (because that’s what dad uses. :)).
Wendi says
PILOT ME! I prefer to keep a paper calendar and only use pencil on it. I love making lists – to do lists, grocery lists, summer vacation idea lists – you name it, I love to make lists. In my opinion, lists should be made on paper with pen. I just can’t go digital on this!
kristy says
PILOT ME! I always have a Pilot G2 within feet of me to scribble, doodle or take notes with!
Shelley says

PILOT ME!
I love writing notes on my iPhone, but I also use pens to write lists on junk mail envelopes.
Julia says
PILOT ME!
I am a total writing utensil snob. I like my pens to be ballpoint, but really inky. Dry scratchy pens are like nails on a chalkboard to me. Oh, and they have to be thick – 0.7 mm minimum. My favorites are the 1.0 mm!!
Mary T says
PILOT ME!
My calendar is 100% digital, but when it comes to notes on the fly, grocery lists, to do lists, and notes while on the phone, I always keep a blue ink pen nearby (desk, purse, fridge) and write in a 5x7ish spiral notebook I keep with me. It’s not organized in any order, but it can really be my brain sometimes! Thanks for the opportunity!
DJ says
Pilot Me!
Sticky notes. I’ve got tons of sticky notes all over the place.
Amanda says
PILOT ME!
I love sticky notes! They are everywhere in my office!
KWright says
PILOT ME! I have every smart gadget there is but I still love to take notes with pen and paper! I keep at least one pen in every bag and take my pretty notebook wherever I go.
Erika says
PILOT ME!
I love list making, and can’t get enough of ball point pens…even though my left-handedness means I end up with pen smeared everywhere. A small price to pay for that smooth as silk feeling I love so much while writing my countless lists.
Randi C. says
Pilot Me! Love a good felt tip pen to jot down handwritten notes on lined post-its.
Amy W says
PILOT ME!!! My husband is a pilot and refuses to carry any other pen in his uniform pocket. I have been buying pilot pens for years in bulk so he’ll never run out!
