Clearly I’m not the only one who loves a good writing utensil (and Target card) as this giveaway reached our 10,000 entry cap within just 24 hours. Nice work team! So that means we get to crown a winner early. That lucky writer is… Heather F (who “writes notes on the back of envelopes and then loses them. Argh.”) Congrats Heather!
This sounds kinda weird, but I’m very particular about my writing tools. So when the folks at Pilot noticed that we tend to write with their products, they wanted to thank us by passing some freebies along. But you know we don’t take them, so we’re paying it forward in the form of a $500 prize to one of you. Now, before you start figuring out what the heck you’re gonna do with $500 worth of pens – let me stop you. While they’ll keep your hands busy with a variety of pens and highlighters (even some erasable varieties) they’re also gonna let our lucky winner pick out $150 worth of Levenger notebooks and organizers (since we could all use a little organization this time of year). Oh, and to round out the $500 prize, how does a $200 Target gift card sound? That way you can pick up any other items you need to get 2013 off to a productive and organized start.
- PRIZE: An assortment of Pilot products plus $150 towards the Levenger notebooks of your choice and a $200 Target gift card (total value $500).
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PILOT ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … your favorite way to take notes or scribble down a message. Do you always keep a ballpoint pen in your pocket or purse? Do you swear by pencils so that you can erase your misspellings? Or are you 100% digital and prefer to rely on phone apps and voice memos to keep you organized?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 16th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States and Canada.
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

PILOT ME.
I’m a ball point girl when its available but usually i find myself just rummaging through my drawer trying to use the first thing I can get my hands on. Love this giveaway though!

with all the digital toys i have you’d think that would be the method i prefer, but there’s still nothing that beats good old pen to paper.
Melissa Irvin says
Pilot me, please!
My instrument varies by task.
For work, I use TUL ballpoint in medium blue. For my sketchbook, I use Sharpie pens in a rainbow of colors. Those are my ‘go-tos’ and I seldom use a pencil.

A pen and post it is all I need.

Jocelyn says
PILOT ME! I am ridiculously picky about my pens (and I love pilot!). I always carry at least 2 with me and take all my notes and make all my lists with them. My husband and kids know not to mess with my pens and that every Christmas is a good time to replenish my stock!
Kate says
Pilot me! I use Post-It notes when I have them on hand, but I’ve taken to jotting things down on the back of receipts when I’m in the car. Work with what you’ve got!

I am OBSESSED with Pilot G-2’s (black). They are EVERYWHERE. I have them in my work desk, home desk, purse, mail sorter, kitchen pen cup, etc. Pilot is literally the only brand I buy and use, so I would love to test out some more of their products.
While I tend to keep personal to-do lists on my phone, I am constantly scribbling out notes on Post-Its with my Pilot pens. Love them!

I keep a small spiral notebook and pen in my purse and on my desk for random notes. Sometimes I go back, and I’ll have a grocery list next to a craft idea, next to a phone number that has no meaning anymore, haha.

I am drifting to the electronic route for note taking, but try to always have a pen/paper in my purse.

I usually have about a full box worth of basic Bic pens in my purse and I’ll keep notes on anything — receipts, Post-Its, other lists… maybe a notebook for my purse would be a worthwhile idea : )

Pilot pens were my note-taking tool of choice in high school and college (I know I’m dating myself)…it always had to be blue, and the Fineline. Nothing else would do!
At home, I still use mostly pens, mostly black, and always Finelines. Why fix it if it ain’t broke? Thanks to Pilot for an awesome giveaway!!!
Kimberly says
PILOT ME!
I’m all about an ink pen, preferably one with the click button on the top (caps are terrible!) and definitely gel/flowy ink. (All very technical terms, by the way.)
And I’m a notes and list gal – I would use my phone, but then I would forget that I put a note there and nothing would ever get done or purchased!
Staci says
PILOT ME!!! I always have to have pen and paper handy because I write down everything. I am lost without it!!

PILOT ME!
Even though I’m moving to digital note-taking with apps like Evernote or Astrid, I always go back to my middle school ways of jotting down important notes on the back of my hand with sharpie. I never miss one!
Ardi says

Corinne says
PILOT ME!
I am a total list maker. I don’t think I could survive (or at least I’d be wayyy less productive) without writing everything I need to do, buy, remember down on lists! The medium doesn’t matter so much as having something nearby at all times to jot down whatever it is at all times, so I have lists all over my office, home, saved on my phone, tablet, emailed to myself, you name it! Pretty soon, I’m going to need a list to keep track of all my lists!
Sandra says
Pilot me. I use pens and notebooks to take my notes and have different types of each depending on my mood and what type of tactile experience I want :)
