Clearly I’m not the only one who loves a good writing utensil (and Target card) as this giveaway reached our 10,000 entry cap within just 24 hours. Nice work team! So that means we get to crown a winner early. That lucky writer is… Heather F (who “writes notes on the back of envelopes and then loses them. Argh.”) Congrats Heather!
This sounds kinda weird, but I’m very particular about my writing tools. So when the folks at Pilot noticed that we tend to write with their products, they wanted to thank us by passing some freebies along. But you know we don’t take them, so we’re paying it forward in the form of a $500 prize to one of you. Now, before you start figuring out what the heck you’re gonna do with $500 worth of pens – let me stop you. While they’ll keep your hands busy with a variety of pens and highlighters (even some erasable varieties) they’re also gonna let our lucky winner pick out $150 worth of Levenger notebooks and organizers (since we could all use a little organization this time of year). Oh, and to round out the $500 prize, how does a $200 Target gift card sound? That way you can pick up any other items you need to get 2013 off to a productive and organized start.
- PRIZE: An assortment of Pilot products plus $150 towards the Levenger notebooks of your choice and a $200 Target gift card (total value $500).
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PILOT ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … your favorite way to take notes or scribble down a message. Do you always keep a ballpoint pen in your pocket or purse? Do you swear by pencils so that you can erase your misspellings? Or are you 100% digital and prefer to rely on phone apps and voice memos to keep you organized?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 16th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States and Canada.
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of

Pilot Me!
Ultra-fine gel pen and a legal pad. I feel weird any other way, and never learned to take notes with a computer. Although there’s always a mini-panic if I get to that last cardboard page in the middle of something.
Sara says
PILOT ME~!!!As we speak, I am writing with a Pilot G-2 07 black ink–I love this pen and keep a box handy at work (and home). Great giveaway!
Sarah says
Pilot me! I always use black ink to take notes, but use other colors for notes during meetings or to accent points!

I am in the Army so to go with the archaic Army times I am ALWAYS keeping myself organized at work with post it otes e amazing fine point pens. That is , until someone takes all my pens!

PILOT ME! Old fashioned pen and paper work best for me! I don’t think it will ever change, I’m a pen junkie!

PILOT ME!
I always carry a pen. My favorites are black roller ball pens or black or blue flairs. I loved reading the comments that other people wrote, since I guess I always thought I was the only person who was so particular about her writing utensils!
Cassidy says
Pilot me!
I love sticky notes…all over my desk!
MegS says
PILOT ME!
I am very particular about my writing utensils! I LOVE the Pilot Frixion series, which are pens that can be erased with friction. They are SO COOL. I have the “ball” and “point” styles in the series, and love them both. So why don’t you pick me since I’m such a fan?!
Becca says
PILOT ME! My favorite is an old school fine point Pilot. I try to convert to digital notes but I always revert to writing on a ton of scrap paper!
Michelle says
Pilot Me!
I always have one pencil and three pens on my desk (blue, black, and red). And my pencil has to be super sharp!
Bethany says
Pilot me!
I am a big Pilot pen user. As a lefty I like their extra fine point pens because they don’t smear as much as ones with high ink flow.
Stef says
Pilot me!
I have a mug of pens on my desk and a stack of post-it notes. I write tons of notes and post them on a ledge above my computer monitors. I try to always keep a pen with me but as it seems, whenever I need one, it’s missing.
Jennifer says
PILOT ME!! I always have a pen and sticky notes available. I can’t live without scribbling notes.

Pilot me!
I’m obsessed with pens, and paper. And have a whole bunch of various ones. I buy coloured ones cause they are pretty, but rarely use them, as they suck for writing.

Pilot Me!!
My notes are usually on the back of whatever paper is handy, usually a bill :)
Ashley says
PILOT ME!
I carry my planner and a pen with me everywhere. I am lost without it. I tried using my phone to keep me organized, but it just wasn’t the same as making a list and crossing off items that had been done.
Leigh Anne says
PILOT ME!
Pen or bust for me!
Erin S says
PILOT ME!
I love a good ballpoint pen. As much as I love my smartphone, nothing sinks an idea in my head more than writing it down.
Margaret Myers says
PILOT ME! This has got to be my fantasy prize! I taught handwriting to elementary school kids and now that art of writing is going south due to the keyboard! I use pencils(must be sharp!) when I am doing thinking tasks! I love the Pilot gel pens and I am ecstatic if a business hands out “fat” barreled pens. I have a special pen for signing cards. I have pens by the phone, on the kitchen table, on my nightstand. My husband keeps one in his bathroom for notetaking. I LOVE this gift!!!!!!!!
Kristen says
PILOT ME!
Handwritten lists are still how I keep myself organized, and I am very particular about my writing instruments, especially at work! Blue ink is a must.

PILOT ME! I do use a to-do list online and on my phone, but I still use paper and pencil for things like jotting down notes, meal planning, and making grocery lists. I prefer pencil, but I keep both a pen (in case I need to write a check) and a pencil in my purse.
Rebecca says
Pilot me! I love to use anything except pencils– they smear when I use them.
Amanda T says
PILOT ME!
Definitely a pen and paper girl here! I always keep a little notebook handy so I can jot things down as necessary. It’s so much more difficult to put it all in the iPhone.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Pilot pens! We use their G2 pens for everything. And I use their Varsity fountain pens when I don’t feel like writing with a quill ;)
I keep both paper and digital to-do lists. Paper for the satisfaction of crossing things off, digital to keep things organized and remember what I need to do each day and into the future!

PILOT ME! I am a compulsive list-maker. We have a magnetic pad always handy on the side of the fridge, and I carry a pen & notebook with me in my purse at all times. I also have a weird sense of pride in that almost all of my writing is in cursive, even grocery lists.
Laura says
Pilot me! I rely on my phone…probably too much!
Alison says
PILOT ME! I’m a pen person all the way, and a huge listmaker. You’d think with all the lists I make that I’d be more organized :)

Cheryl says
PILOT ME!! I’m old school and write out lists of everything!! Groceries, to do, things to pack- all listed in pen :)
Stephanie says
“Pilot me” I’m all about pens on scraps of paper. A pencil will do in a pinch but it smears.
Angela says
PILOT ME! I generally write lists with pen and paper when they have big “to do” items. I get a sense of satisfaction from crossing them off that deleting from a digital note just doesn’t deliver.
