Clearly I’m not the only one who loves a good writing utensil (and Target card) as this giveaway reached our 10,000 entry cap within just 24 hours. Nice work team! So that means we get to crown a winner early. That lucky writer is… Heather F (who “writes notes on the back of envelopes and then loses them. Argh.”) Congrats Heather!
This sounds kinda weird, but I’m very particular about my writing tools. So when the folks at Pilot noticed that we tend to write with their products, they wanted to thank us by passing some freebies along. But you know we don’t take them, so we’re paying it forward in the form of a $500 prize to one of you. Now, before you start figuring out what the heck you’re gonna do with $500 worth of pens – let me stop you. While they’ll keep your hands busy with a variety of pens and highlighters (even some erasable varieties) they’re also gonna let our lucky winner pick out $150 worth of Levenger notebooks and organizers (since we could all use a little organization this time of year). Oh, and to round out the $500 prize, how does a $200 Target gift card sound? That way you can pick up any other items you need to get 2013 off to a productive and organized start.
- PRIZE: An assortment of Pilot products plus $150 towards the Levenger notebooks of your choice and a $200 Target gift card (total value $500).
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PILOT ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … your favorite way to take notes or scribble down a message. Do you always keep a ballpoint pen in your pocket or purse? Do you swear by pencils so that you can erase your misspellings? Or are you 100% digital and prefer to rely on phone apps and voice memos to keep you organized?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 16th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States and Canada.
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of

PILOT ME! I have always been a pen kinda gal. When I was younger, back to school shopping was always the highlight of my month, not because of the new clothes but because of the new pens, pencils, markers and paper (nerd alert!)

PILOT ME! I like to use good old pen and paper for making lists or writing notes. I’m addicted to the Pilot Precise rolling ball pens (the ones that have a window so you can see the ink inside) in blue.

My husband always keeps a pen in his pocket and I try to keep him near so I can always update my list that’s stored in my purse. It would make more sense to keep a pen myself yet….

Dawn S says
PILOT ME! I am all about hand-written calendars, notes, and lists. I use my phone app in a pinch, but I prefer hand-written info (and it helps me remember it, whether I refer to the list or not).
I tend to find a favorite pen and stick to it for a while, but lately I’ve been digging Sharpie pens for their bolder-than-ballpoint print but thin lines that don’t bleed together like wider tips do.
Bridgett Thomas says

I mostly have things written down. It really is that ability to apply a check or cross things off that feels so darn good. But i also make attempts to use my gmail or other digital tools (and then usually forget about those lists.)
Brianne says

Being a teacher, I often fluctuate between pencil and pen. I have a love for them both depending on what I am using them for, but can definitely say that I gravitate more towards pens. You can almost always find me at school with 2-3 tucked into my ponytail for easy access!

I’ve started using my phone to make quick notes, but I definitely still carry a small noteback and pen in my purse at all times. This is the first year I went all digital on my Christmas shopping list and it felt weird…but was nice that it was basically always with me.
I’m still a sucker for ‘school supplies’, though. LOVE getting new notebooks and pens. Yes, that makes me a nerd.

I take lots of notes with my digital devices, but never go anywhere without a pilot G2 blue pen in my purse. Seriously, they are the best!!
Michelle says
PILOT ME please!! I’ve been burned a few times on using my cellphone for lists (like when I documented my son’s milestones on my cell & then it died!!!). I now use a combo of digital and a small notebook with a pocket divider in my purse. That pocket was a huge help with receipts & coupons while Christmas shopping.

I am a major doodler with any utensil within reach but starting to use my iPhone for important notes and reminders.

I love Pilot G2 pens! I have them in all different colors and don’t like to write with anything else! Plus, my meeting notes for work are so much more interesting in color!

“PILOT ME!”
I am a constant keeper of notes. My daily routine includes making and crossing off my to-do list at work on top of my weekly house list. I typically have at least one mini-Moleskine notebook on my person plus a handful of ballpoint pens. I’ve tried to download digital note apps on my phone, computer, and tablet but frankly, good ol’ pen & paper works best.
Britt F. says
Pilot me!!! I’m a HUGE list maker, have been since I was little, so it’s always a pen for this girl! I carry one everywhere I go!
