Clearly I’m not the only one who loves a good writing utensil (and Target card) as this giveaway reached our 10,000 entry cap within just 24 hours. Nice work team! So that means we get to crown a winner early. That lucky writer is… Heather F (who “writes notes on the back of envelopes and then loses them. Argh.”) Congrats Heather!
This sounds kinda weird, but I’m very particular about my writing tools. So when the folks at Pilot noticed that we tend to write with their products, they wanted to thank us by passing some freebies along. But you know we don’t take them, so we’re paying it forward in the form of a $500 prize to one of you. Now, before you start figuring out what the heck you’re gonna do with $500 worth of pens – let me stop you. While they’ll keep your hands busy with a variety of pens and highlighters (even some erasable varieties) they’re also gonna let our lucky winner pick out $150 worth of Levenger notebooks and organizers (since we could all use a little organization this time of year). Oh, and to round out the $500 prize, how does a $200 Target gift card sound? That way you can pick up any other items you need to get 2013 off to a productive and organized start.
- PRIZE: An assortment of Pilot products plus $150 towards the Levenger notebooks of your choice and a $200 Target gift card (total value $500).
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PILOT ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … your favorite way to take notes or scribble down a message. Do you always keep a ballpoint pen in your pocket or purse? Do you swear by pencils so that you can erase your misspellings? Or are you 100% digital and prefer to rely on phone apps and voice memos to keep you organized?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 16th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States and Canada.
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of

PILOT ME! I have a ga-zillion sticky notes in my office, at home, in my car, in my purse, and anywhere else that I can find a place to stick ’em. And of course I use PILOT pens! I have one in my wallet (with a sticky note pad) at ALL times. Pick me, pick me!
Catherine says
PILOT ME! I’m a fan of a purse sized calendar and a mechanical pencil for when things inevitably get changed.
Ali Miller says
PILOT ME!
I am currently in a torn mess between sticky notes, a desk calendar, and notes on my cell phone. Some organization is definitely in need!
Ashley N. says
PILOT ME!
I have an addiction to lists. I have to make lists or I won’t get anything done! And I’m super picky about which pens go with which notebook. Maybe a little OCD?
Haley says
PILOT ME!
I love pen and paper lists, in spite of my iPhone. I have a little Moleskine planner with a blank page for notes each week and I often supplement with post-its. For pens I love the Pilot Precise V5 for everyday but I’m also a user of Staedtler’s triplus fineliner pens for color-coded editing.
Kelly S. says
PILOT ME!
I tend to write on whatever scrap of paper is around. We have a drawer of pens at home, but if I’m out and about I usually use my phone for notes.
Sarah says
PILOT ME!
I always have pens on me and usually write on whatever I can grab first. Napkins, old receipts, post it pads…you name it!.
Shaunda Harris says
Pilot me!
I can only use pens. For some reason the sound of pencil on paper makes me cringe!!
Kelli Williams says
PILOT ME! PLEASE! Ha! I have pens in my purse, in a cup on my counter and another on my desk. Along with all my pens, there are notebooks all over my house too. I’m a bit obsessed.
Allie says
PILOT ME! I actually love using Pilot pens – I like the Precise v5 RT pen, and I keep one everywhere!
Ashleigh says
PILOT ME! My brain is kept on white index cards, scrawled out in lists by pen. Sticky notes are also my friend. I would be one sad little girl without these life savers!
Jen says
PILOT ME!
I have lists everywhere — in a word doc on my computer, in a notebook on my desk, on my phone… it’s sad.
Jennifer says
“PILOT ME!”
I am a crazy note taker, I live in a world of crazy old men that just jabber all over the place and forget what they said – so it is up to me to scribble it down.
I actually love fine-tip ball point pens. I like the idea of those liquid writing pens but they smudge with my writing technique lol.
I vow to never go completely digital with my note taking, it is so fun to dig back through my steno pads and see what I was thinking then.
Ciao!
Emma S. says
PILOT ME! I use my phone for personal notes but work notes are always written down in my moleskin. I’m a pen gal so this would be awesome!
Mara says
PILOT ME (please)!
I’m all about the pen and paper, although I like to “double down” with an electronic back up (calendar). I cannot live without pen and paper so this give away is the bomb diggity. Or as Macklmore would say “This is f*ing awesome.”
Jen M says
PILOT ME!
I love keeping lists and notes in the note app on my iPhone bc then I always have them with me, whether at home or at work, and no matter what purse I use that day :)
Shanee says
Pilot me!
I’m almost 100% digital but in a meeting I’m a doodler and I need a good quality pen and paper to produce my creations!
Cole says
Pilot me! I use any scrap of paper I can get my hands on for lists, I don’t always mark them off when they are done but I constantly use them for unloading ideas and reference.
Samantha James says
Pilot Me!
Cara says
pilot me! I love the gel ink pens. I can’t stand writing with a pencil although I like to do pencil drawings so that is kind of weird. Even used to do my math homework in pen.
Megan W. says
PILOT ME!
I always carry at least three or four pens with me everywhere I go, and I have for years! I have to have one purple, one red and one blue and/or black. I think it all stems from years as a copy editor and then a law student – I love to color-code everything! I’m also a huge fan of pen and paper lists. I tried going digital, but nothing replaces the feeling of scratching something off a long to-do list!
Patricia says
Pilot me! I try to stay organized and use my phone/electronics for notes, meetings, etc but I always end up writing on sticky notes…I’m addicted to them!
Mia says
PILOT ME!
I love post-it notes!!!
Cheryl says
Pilot Me!
I always have pens and a notebook in my bag. I love technology but sometimes writing it down is just the way to go!
Allison says
PILOT ME!
I like digital. I keep lists in the “Reminders” app on my iPhone. I also use Google Calendar to remind me of things, e.g. if I have to mail something by a certain day, I put it on that date and Google emails me that day to remind me.
Love a good pen to write a card or handwritten note though!
Ruby Whitney says
Pilot me!
Ciara says
PILOT ME! I’m a pen and paper girl, and love the satisfaction of crossing things off to-do lists!
Sara says
PILOT ME!
“Reminders” on my iPhone or post-its stuck to my door/computer screen.
Lilly says
PILOT ME! I take notes with a pen and a small notebook, that I always keep with me. This has been very handy with our kitchen reno, where we take weekly trips to look at cabinets/tiles/fixtures/etc.
Sara says
PILOT ME!!! Please! I have TONS of notes to take for work and at home, just to try to keep up with all the things I need to do, remember and keep track of. I have this beautiful little green journal, but never seem to have it when I need it. I usually end up writing notes to myself on sticky notes and then, you know how that goes… they are everywhere and I can never make heads or tails of them after the fact! I’m a mess!
Megan says
PILOT ME! I love writing a list in a notebook and crossing things off :)
Amber says
PILOT ME!
All depends on what I’ve got going or on hand. Not picky one way or another.
Katy says
PILOT ME! Please, please, please pilot me! I LOVE PENS. I write in pencil in my planner, but I like to color code, so colored pencils. Pen for everything else. I love colored felt tips best. Oh, I want this. I would spread $350 worth of new pens on my bed and roll in them!
Kevin M says
PILOT ME.
I got a nice pen as a gift at a conference last year, I usually just take notes on a yellow pad or a college-ruled spiral notebook.

My phone is my primary list organizer, but I do love an ultra fine tipped marker for making paper lists.
Meghan, RVA says
Pilot Me!
I use my phone A LOT, but nothing beats a notebook & a pen for a to-do list. I don’t like to be wasteful of space though, so I’ve had 80 page notebooks (that I use every day!) take me almost two years to fill.
Kathleen says
PILOT ME!
I’m still a notetaker and carry teeny little notebooks in my purse. I’ve got 3 shoeboxes full of them with grocery lists, errands to run and other random memos.
Erica says
Pilot me! I always take notes with a pen and whatever scrap paper is lying around!

I like to use colored sharpies. Annoying, but fun!
Jill says
PILOT ME!!!!!!!!!! I always have a pen on me – in the day of digital nothing beats a little handwritten note – a lot more personal!
Jess says
PILOT ME!
I always have to have a pen with a cap in my purse, the clicky kind end up ‘open’ and scribble on the lining :(
Jessica C says
PILOT ME! I use Pilot V5 or V7 retractable pens and have a journal with me at all times to record all my day to day minutiae.
