Clearly I’m not the only one who loves a good writing utensil (and Target card) as this giveaway reached our 10,000 entry cap within just 24 hours. Nice work team! So that means we get to crown a winner early. That lucky writer is… Heather F (who “writes notes on the back of envelopes and then loses them. Argh.”) Congrats Heather!
This sounds kinda weird, but I’m very particular about my writing tools. So when the folks at Pilot noticed that we tend to write with their products, they wanted to thank us by passing some freebies along. But you know we don’t take them, so we’re paying it forward in the form of a $500 prize to one of you. Now, before you start figuring out what the heck you’re gonna do with $500 worth of pens – let me stop you. While they’ll keep your hands busy with a variety of pens and highlighters (even some erasable varieties) they’re also gonna let our lucky winner pick out $150 worth of Levenger notebooks and organizers (since we could all use a little organization this time of year). Oh, and to round out the $500 prize, how does a $200 Target gift card sound? That way you can pick up any other items you need to get 2013 off to a productive and organized start.
- PRIZE: An assortment of Pilot products plus $150 towards the Levenger notebooks of your choice and a $200 Target gift card (total value $500).
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PILOT ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … your favorite way to take notes or scribble down a message. Do you always keep a ballpoint pen in your pocket or purse? Do you swear by pencils so that you can erase your misspellings? Or are you 100% digital and prefer to rely on phone apps and voice memos to keep you organized?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 16th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States and Canada.
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of

PILOT ME! I usually have to borrow a pen and write on a scrap piece of paper like a receipt or a napkin. :)

PILOT ME!
I prefer to take notes on the go on my iphone. I never seem to have a working pen handy these days.
Catherine S. says
PILOT ME! I love pens too…always have a few close by to jot things down. If only my kids would stop taking my favorite ones.
Carmen(country mouse) says
Pilot Me! Any old pen & scrap of paper will do!

PILOT ME!
love me some Pilot Precise V5 pens and my trusty Moleskine notebooks
Jess says
PILOT ME!!!
I always love pencil and paper. Something about being able to physically mark out accomplished tasks just really makes me happy.
Cathy says
PILOT ME! Pens and post-it notes for me. Not too neat, but my interior hard drive is bust. ;-)
Kate says
Pilot Me!!! I do love a medium point, black gel pen with a lid. Not that I’ve thought about it much or anything. ;)
Stephanie says
PILOT ME!! I am a pen and notebook kinda girl and Pilot happens to be my fave!! I journal pretty much daily in a moleskine book and I have a soft spot for dayplanners. Thanks for the opportunity!
Ashley says
Pilot me!!
I like pen and post it notes!
Sharon says
PILOT ME!! Although we are in the digital age, I am still very much a pen-and-paper kind of gal!
Carolyn says
PILOT ME! I love the Pilot Precision v7 pens!
I’m disorganized enough that I don’t have one way of taking notes – I use the note app in my iPhone but I also keep lists so I use pens that I’m always losing.
Kelly says
Pilot me!
I’m an ultra fine point sharpie girl–used on post it notes galore!
Erin G says
PILOT ME!I do almost all of my notes and lists digitally anymore. It’s the only way I don’t lose everything.
Lucy says
Pilot me! I, unusually, I guess, write mainly in cursive, with a pen, these days. I like it because I find it both faster and harder for people to snoop on my notes.
Kaitlin says
PILOT ME!!
Oh man, I love a good pen. I’m very particular. I tend to take notes in two places: a good planner (also hard to find the perfect one) and in my phone if I know I won’t have my planner with me. Pilot pens (the Precise V5 fine) are my favorite!
Emily says
PILOT ME!
I have a dry erase board in my kitchen. It gets constant use :-)
Kristin says
PILOT ME! I like the old fashioned write-it-on-a-sticky-note method. I have to-do lists everywhere…hard copies and follow up with a digital calendar on my iPhone. I use the same method for my calendar. Love organization!
Shannon says
PILOT ME!
I mostly use the standard notes app on my iPhone, but recently, I bought a little planner from Target. I always use pencil (a mechanical pencil)! I hate to be reminded of my spelling mistakes for the whole year.
When I was working full time, I LOVED using a Levenger planner!
Lauren says
PILOT ME! Before the iPhone, I always scribbled notes, which were eventually lost in the abyss of papers and junk drawers in my home. Now I write myself notes that I always have with me. Now, the problem becomes if I misplace my phone, then I’m really in trouble :)
Tara says
PILOT ME!I’m an old-fashioned pen-and-notepad kinda gal. I keep one on my desk at work and write down everything I have to do…and carry that pad around to all my meetings, etc. It’s weird but it works!
Erin says
Pilot me!!
I use a lot of PostIt notes (and even have “special attitude” PostIts) as well as carrying a pen with me most of the time.
My ink pens at work tend to grow legs and walk off, so I’m always in need of a good one!
Holly says
PILOT ME!
I have two preferences: a real pencil with the eraser not-yet worn down, mid-sharpness. OR, those cheapie pens you can buy for like, 50 cents for a 10-pack. I like really skinny things to hold, and as a full-time writer, I spend a LOT of time interviewing people. I need my pens to a) not put extra ink on teh page and make my notes even more messy (I’m looking at you ball-points) and b) make it easy to write my short-hand at the same rate people talk. And I carry steno pads at all times :)

PILOT ME!
I love to write, and always keep a notepad and pen with me!
Amy says
PILOT ME! I keep my moleskin notebook and pilot pen in my purse at all times.

Pilot me!
Pilot pens remind me of my childhood. My dad is a die hard fan and my brothers and I spent hours taking the clicky ones apart and putting them back together (and losing them … and writing on all sorts of things with them). Nothing like a Pilot pen for quick notes and brainstorming sessions!
Kelly says
PILOT ME! I write with any pen in a bright fun color. As a lawyer, I struggle to find black pens to write court orders!
Lisa R says
PILOT ME!
I love a good quality pen. I’m all about making lists and crossing things off!
Renee says
PILOT ME!
I’m super specific about my pens too. I like a really fine fetl tip that won’t bleed through. I’m working on liking pencils again, mostly b/c I have some rad pencil sharpeners.
Paulette says
PILOT ME!
I love Pilot pens. The fine point are my favorite. I’m writing with one now.
Alise says
PILOT ME!
Even though I have an iPad and plenty of digital devices, which I love, nothing can replace a Post-It and a good pen. I, like you, am a picky pen user. Nothing but the best!
Jill says
PILOT ME! I don’t even have a cell phone, so I use pens (ball point, please!) to remind myself of everything, to make my lists, etc. I heart pens!
Krystle Clark says
PILOT ME!
My tried and true way of keeping notes is a good pen and TONS of post-it notes! I love post-it notes because you can stick them to the steering wheel of the car as a reminder to make a errand stop, or stick them to the fridge as a reminder or sweet note to the hubby. I love that I can then pick up the stickies and carry them with me as reminders. Looking forward to reading other folks comments to see what works best for them and to maybe improve my process.

I HAVE to write things down on my calendar at work, my planner for personal use, and jot notes to boot! I’m 23 in real life, but live as if I’m stuck in a different era (although I do love my iPhone). && I love the Pilot G-2! It makes my writing look so elegant!
Danielle Ferretti in Miami says

I am a total pen and post-it kinda gal. Needless to say I have a buzillion and one stuck everywhere, but can never find the one I really need !
Carolyn says
Pilot me!
I always have a pen and little notepad in my bad because you never know when you’ll think of something you just have to write down!
Melanie says
PILOT ME!!
I’m sucker for post it notes (you should see my desk @ work). If I need to remember something bad enough I’ll put one in a place I know I’ll see it, aka in the center of a bathroom mirror!
Vanessa says
PILOT ME!! And, while everything usually ends up on my phone or laptop, I always keep a pen and paper around to jot things down quickly.
Stacey says

I am such a pen snob and am in LOVE with the Pilot G-2…
bria says
PILOT ME!
I always have about 4(!) pens in my purse, but usually no pads of paper (arg!), so I have lots of notes on the backs of receipts…
