Clearly I’m not the only one who loves a good writing utensil (and Target card) as this giveaway reached our 10,000 entry cap within just 24 hours. Nice work team! So that means we get to crown a winner early. That lucky writer is… Heather F (who “writes notes on the back of envelopes and then loses them. Argh.”) Congrats Heather!
This sounds kinda weird, but I’m very particular about my writing tools. So when the folks at Pilot noticed that we tend to write with their products, they wanted to thank us by passing some freebies along. But you know we don’t take them, so we’re paying it forward in the form of a $500 prize to one of you. Now, before you start figuring out what the heck you’re gonna do with $500 worth of pens – let me stop you. While they’ll keep your hands busy with a variety of pens and highlighters (even some erasable varieties) they’re also gonna let our lucky winner pick out $150 worth of Levenger notebooks and organizers (since we could all use a little organization this time of year). Oh, and to round out the $500 prize, how does a $200 Target gift card sound? That way you can pick up any other items you need to get 2013 off to a productive and organized start.
- PRIZE: An assortment of Pilot products plus $150 towards the Levenger notebooks of your choice and a $200 Target gift card (total value $500).
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PILOT ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … your favorite way to take notes or scribble down a message. Do you always keep a ballpoint pen in your pocket or purse? Do you swear by pencils so that you can erase your misspellings? Or are you 100% digital and prefer to rely on phone apps and voice memos to keep you organized?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 16th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States and Canada.
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of

PILOT ME! I love making lists and always have a pen in my bag. And yes, I add things to my to-do list after I’ve done them just for the joy of marking them off ;)

Usually if I’m taking a quick note while I’m out and about or at home, I just grab whatever’s closest, but at work, I really do love my nice pens! I never use post its because they get lost on my desk, I use my planner.
Beth B says
Pilot Me! A mechanical pencil and good pen are a must for jotting notes and crossing off lists! The closest I get to actually using technology is sticking my post-it list to my phone’s screen.

I’m a pen and paper kind of girl. I have dozens of those list papers with magnets on the back. We keep pens all over the house, mostly ones sporting my husband’s small business, ha!
That said, I have an app where we can share the grocery list, it’s amazing!
Amelia says
PILOT ME! I love taking notes with a pen, but also under “reminders” on my phone and definitely in evernote!

I actually prefer Pilot pens myself! Great minds! Love your blog. It inspired me to paint my house this summer. Unfortunately, I ran out of steam and my kitchen has been left half painted. Groan. Oh, for more steam!

Pilot me! I am all about the fine point, cushy grip writing tool – in blue ink only! I am a mix of digital and old fashioned notebook paper for organization…and it really doesn’t work…

Paper and pens all the way, baby. It used to drive my Calculus teacher mad – I would take all of my tests in pen (lucky for me, I was really good at Calculus). But there’s nothing better than a fresh set of notes with some lovely pen writing.
Dani says
Pilot me! I LOVE writing (and doodling) in pen, especially really nice pens. This is more difficult that you would think; I teach at an inner-city high school where most of my students come to school unprepared. Most of pens–even my nice ones–tend to be given away to students. Students learning is more important than me keeping my pens. I just wish they’d give them back once in a while! :)

I have started to rely on my Notes App on my iPhone for a lot of lists that I need to keep, but a nice pen will always come in handy for little notes or anytime you want to write something more special.

I’m a post-it-note and bold pen junkie. Currently in love with the Pilot gel pens, because they come in a BOLD BLUE version. I hate the scratchy sound that fine point pens make on paper! Yuck!
I even put post it notes in my car, on my dash board. Not for driving reminders of course (I’m a very good driver), but for other things I need to do/get/remember. That’s my method. Post it notes, bold pens, and a good to do list. Isn’t the first page in a fresh notebook wonderful? Oh the possibilities…
Carlee W says
PILOT ME! Good old yellow notepad and a ball point pen!
Pieter says
Pilot Me! My phone, it saves me from carrying around a pen and paper!
Mariam says
pilot me! I use a combo of ballpoint pen/paper for work tasks, groceries, and short term to-dos around the house – plus google tasks for longer-term or running lists I’m likely to need or add to while at work, at home or out and about. sounds confusing but it works for me!
