Clearly I’m not the only one who loves a good writing utensil (and Target card) as this giveaway reached our 10,000 entry cap within just 24 hours. Nice work team! So that means we get to crown a winner early. That lucky writer is… Heather F (who “writes notes on the back of envelopes and then loses them. Argh.”) Congrats Heather!
This sounds kinda weird, but I’m very particular about my writing tools. So when the folks at Pilot noticed that we tend to write with their products, they wanted to thank us by passing some freebies along. But you know we don’t take them, so we’re paying it forward in the form of a $500 prize to one of you. Now, before you start figuring out what the heck you’re gonna do with $500 worth of pens – let me stop you. While they’ll keep your hands busy with a variety of pens and highlighters (even some erasable varieties) they’re also gonna let our lucky winner pick out $150 worth of Levenger notebooks and organizers (since we could all use a little organization this time of year). Oh, and to round out the $500 prize, how does a $200 Target gift card sound? That way you can pick up any other items you need to get 2013 off to a productive and organized start.
- PRIZE: An assortment of Pilot products plus $150 towards the Levenger notebooks of your choice and a $200 Target gift card (total value $500).
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PILOT ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … your favorite way to take notes or scribble down a message. Do you always keep a ballpoint pen in your pocket or purse? Do you swear by pencils so that you can erase your misspellings? Or are you 100% digital and prefer to rely on phone apps and voice memos to keep you organized?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 16th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States and Canada.
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

PILOT ME!! I’m a definite note taker. And a sucker for pens and note pads. It’s a sickness.
Heidi says
PILOT ME! I’m an office supply junkie, so I’ve always got several types of pens in every color you can think of handy.
Betsy says
PILOT ME! As an engineer I use pencils most of the time but I love a nice blue gel pen when I get a chance!
Lark says
PILOT ME! I like jotting things down the old fashioned way…with a ball point pen. I wish I would get more digital since I tend to leave my lists at home and have to wing it when I get to the store.
Jenny says
PILOT ME!
I’m a ballpoint pen and post-it note kind of gal! Post-it’s everywhere!
Colleen says
Pilot me!
I’m super picky with pens and in a past life was a copy editor, so I stay away from black and brown. My husband has 800 of those cheap-o small pocket spiral notebooks around everywhere with notes, but he’s slowly gone to a phone method. We uses tons of post-it’s though. Gotta love a good post-it to-do list!
Jessica says

Rachel says

I think my handwriting looks better in pencil, so I prefer to write with those. Odd but true.
Kristin says
Pilot me!
I love a freshly sharpened pencil but a nicely weighted pen is a close second. I usually only keep a pen in my purse since the pencil point always breaks :(
Chelsea Jo says
Pilot me! I have something around 8 pens and pencils and 2 tiny notebooks with me all the time. I doodle a lot, even when taking notes, so, yeah. I should probably clean my purse out.
Natalie V. says
PILOT ME! I use a ballpoint pen and any piece of paper I can get my hands on. I love a good List, and crossing things off said list is one of my favorite daily activities. A new set of pens and notebooks would be so fun!!
Teresa S says
PILOT ME! I love pens and sticky notes. Have them scattered everywhere.
Elyssa says
Pilot me! I used to be strictly digital for organizing and planning (I have about 10 different Google calendars!). But, this new year I decided to buy a paper agenda to quickly and easily keep track of what I do each day for work and fun. It’s like keeping a journal but with bulleted-lists!
Stephanie says
PILOT ME!
I looooove making lists and crossing things off. Sometimes I will even go back and back-fill my to-do list just so I can have the satisfaction of marking it off!
Sprite's Keeper says
PILOT ME!
I love the look of a journal/planner, but mostly stick to sticky notes just because they’re usually the most accessible when I need to jot something down.
Peter says
Pilot Me!

Pilot me! I have to physically write things down, so no digital helpers, and I carry my own pen in my purse. ‘Tis the season (for cold and flu!).
Kimberly H says
PILOT ME! I’m entering for my hubby who is obsessed with always having a pen in his pocket “just in case”. It’s on his mental check list of things to make sure he has before he leaves the house.
McKinley says

Amanda S says
PILOT ME!
I love jotting down notes in a small spiral bound notebook. About the size of a day planner. I’m a mechanical pencil or fine-point uni-ball pen girl but happy to try a different brand. I just have leftovers from my last job.
Also, just started using remember the milk for repeating chore lists. So I mix it up, but some things you just need to see in front of you.
Stephanie says
PILOT ME!
I will always and forever be a pen and paper list maker kinda gal! Also, I have a planner that I religiously use as well. I tried to get onto the digital bandwagon, but I just can’t on the listmaking thing. =)
Amanda says

Emily says
PILOT ME! As a leftie, I like a good pen that doesn’t smear easily. I’ve started using my phone somtimes for convenience, but still get the most satisfaction out of written lists and crossing things off.

Beth says
Pilot Me!
I have always been a big fan of post-its but I have been trying to convert myself to electronic sticky notes to save on paper waste.
Emily F says
PILOT ME!
I tend to take messages or notes on my phone through email or the notepad. But for actual writing – I hate pencils! And I’m picky about my pens… they have to write smoothly, with not too fine of a point, and not too hard of pressure. :)
Hunter says
PILOT ME! My note taking of choice is a pilot PRECISE V5 (green) and a black moleskine I carry with me everywhere! I have been using my iphone more and more for long term lists, but can’t give up a good paper to do list yet.
Julia says
Pilot me! I always have a pen, but frequently no paper, so it has to be the kind of pen that can write on my hand in a pinch.
Katie McIntyre says
Pilot me! The Pilot G-2 pictured above in black is my favorite pen. When I use other pens I feel like I am cheating.
JC says
PILOT ME!
I’m about 70% pen (Pilot precision pens are my fave!) & paper (usually post-its!) and 30% digital…most effective, though — sticking a post-it note on my phone!
Zoe says
Pilot Me! If I’m just jotting down some notes or making a list, I prefer a pen (fine-point), but for anything work-related (I’m in a science field), it’s always pencil – have to be able to erase! I’m partial to 0.5 mm lead.
Kelli says
PILOT ME! I use ball point pens I always have around to jot things down

Tracey Florence says
Pilot me! I have to use medium point pens with black ink or everything looks weird.
Chelsea says
PILOT ME! I always have notebooks around – one for work and one for life. I alternate between pencil and pen. I prefer the feel of pencils but I don’t like how the writing tends to fade over time. I wrote my entire thesis out in pencil before typing any of it.
