Clearly I’m not the only one who loves a good writing utensil (and Target card) as this giveaway reached our 10,000 entry cap within just 24 hours. Nice work team! So that means we get to crown a winner early. That lucky writer is… Heather F (who “writes notes on the back of envelopes and then loses them. Argh.”) Congrats Heather!
This sounds kinda weird, but I’m very particular about my writing tools. So when the folks at Pilot noticed that we tend to write with their products, they wanted to thank us by passing some freebies along. But you know we don’t take them, so we’re paying it forward in the form of a $500 prize to one of you. Now, before you start figuring out what the heck you’re gonna do with $500 worth of pens – let me stop you. While they’ll keep your hands busy with a variety of pens and highlighters (even some erasable varieties) they’re also gonna let our lucky winner pick out $150 worth of Levenger notebooks and organizers (since we could all use a little organization this time of year). Oh, and to round out the $500 prize, how does a $200 Target gift card sound? That way you can pick up any other items you need to get 2013 off to a productive and organized start.
- PRIZE: An assortment of Pilot products plus $150 towards the Levenger notebooks of your choice and a $200 Target gift card (total value $500).
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PILOT ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … your favorite way to take notes or scribble down a message. Do you always keep a ballpoint pen in your pocket or purse? Do you swear by pencils so that you can erase your misspellings? Or are you 100% digital and prefer to rely on phone apps and voice memos to keep you organized?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 16th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States and Canada.
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of

PILOT ME!
I have tried doing things digitally- I suck at it! Nothing beats a good ol’ pen and paper. I usually just grab whatever pen I can find in the drawer and it always ends up being a crappy one. Ha! I would love some good quality, pilot pens. :)
Julie says
Pilot me! I usually use a pen and scribble on random paper. When I can’t find a pen, pencil, crayon, whatever I use my Colornote app on my phone. When I am most organized I like to have a notebook or journal with me.
Kim says
Pilot me!
I love both digital and paper note-taking tools. Evernote keeps me digitally organized with everything a few finger-taps away, but my first love will always be a notebook and pen/pencil for idea generation, sketching, and unending list-making.
Lindsey says
Pilot me!
My best note taking happens in the middle of the night when I get up, jot down ideas/ to dos/dreams/random thoughts haphazardly into a notebook before going back to sleep…
Christine says
Pilot me! I have pens and paper all over my house, in my car, and in my purse. You never know when you will have to write a list down!
Kelly Ferraro says
Pilot Me! I have to put the note on a real sheet of paper – how else would I get the satisfaction of crossing it out when the errand is done??
Kat says
Pilot me! I printed off planner pages and had them bound into the planne of my dreams at Staples for a few bucks so I use that and whatever pen I find around the house to jot things down. I’ve been known to use crayon or marker in a jam though.

PILOT ME!
I’m partial to Pilot G-2 07 pens. I’ve been using them almost exclusively as my writing implement for 10 years. I like a good notebook, fresh page… I’m so picky about pens :)
Jodi says

I use a Pilor G-2 07. I am lost without it at work.

Dorothy says
PILOT ME ! I scribble messages on any scrap piece of paper I find. Always thro a pen in my purse but can’t find it when I need it. I use a combinatino of methods to keep me organized. hand written list, outlook task post it notes. I can name more…but too embarrassed!

PILOT ME!
Oh my gosh, my love for office supplies knows no bounds. I write notes on anything and everything (not in a Beautiful Mind way, just in a normal scatterbrained way).
Lorena says
PILOT ME!
I always have a pen in my purse. And the G2 is one of my favorites to have around the house.
Samantha says
Pilot me!
I have ADD when it comes to writing utensils and switch randomly between good old fashioned ball points, felt tips, and mechanical pencils.
Tracy says
PILOT ME!!!
And I am a post-it junkie. Windows 7 rocked my world with their digital sticky notes. Also, pencils all the way!
Amy P says
Pilot Me! I love a smooth writing pen! I write on whatever is close by, backs of envelopes, scratch paper, or even my hand if I need to.
Brit says
PILOT ME! I love to write everything in RED.
Mary Beth says
PILOT ME! Pilot Precise V5 and scrap 8.5″x11″ cut into quarters is my jam!

Kelly says
Pilot me! I love pilot v7s–skip free & I can see how much ink I have left when I’m making my endless lists of stuff to do!
Ashley K says
PILOT ME! I was just talking about this today! I have a daily calendar on my desk and I always write on the back of it. I have scraps of paper everywhere. Very unorganized for some, but it makes sense to me. And my favorite writing utensil – a purple pen. I’m the only who writes with a purple pen in my office – and that why I always know it’s mine/I signed off on it if it is written in purple!
Kristen Paulson says
PILOT ME!
I always say I’m going to ditch pens and paper because it’s just more to lug around in my gigantic purse, but I just can’t get myself to use technology for calendars, notes, etc. I always go back to my paper planner, and an old fashioned notebook with a nice ballpoint pen. And I always catch myself browsing (a little too long) in the paper section at target. There’s nothing like a nice, fresh piece of paper!
Allison says
PILOT ME!
I usually rely on the ol’ iPhone notepad to keep up with notes, but a lovely pen and paper can’t be beaten!

Holley says
Pilot me!
I pick up random notebooks when I find them on clearance, and there’s always at least one in my living room. When I’m at home, that’s my note-taking medium. The writing implement could be anything from a pen to a scented marker. When I’m on the go, it’s the notepad app on my phone every time.
Heather says
PILOT ME!
I have to leave digital notes or I never find them again.
Jennifer C says
PILOT ME! I am a major list maker and checker offer! I am partial to blue pens.
Sara says
PILOT ME! I have pens EVERYWHERE and I scribble on whatever piece of paper I think will stay in my wallet the longest. Eventually, the scribbles get transferred to some electronic leash, but I am not good enough with my phone to do it on the fly.
Ming says
PILOT ME! I love Pilot pens and I love taking notes with me. My father has always used Pilot pens, I have always used Pilot pens and I am a die hard fan. My to-do lists are all paper and when I’m in a meeting, I love taking notes by paper just to be contrary to the “all laptop all the time” ethic at my school.
Tammy says
Pilot Me! I love me some list making, but its my husband that makes notes on any scrap of paper he can find!
Carrie says
PILOT ME!
I use to be particular about the type of pen I used when I was in school but now that I’m a poor young adult I use any free pen I can get. I make my own note pads by cutting up paper that is being recycled at work and staple the sheets together.
Amy says
Pilot me! I’m such an office supply snob. I only use nice pens and I’m still and pen and paper kind of gal for appts. and notes. Something about writing them down makes me remember them easier.
Amy W says
Pilot me! I love a nice pen and some sticky notes or my planner!
Abby E says
Pilot me!
Being a lefty I’m very particular about writing utensils that don’t smear and track all over the place. Always pen or fine point permanent marker, never ballpoint, and only gel that doesn’t smudge. Who knew being a lefty was so difficult?!
Stephanie B says
PILOT ME!
I only recently got a smartphone and while I enjoy the digital bells and whistles, I still carry around a little notebook and pen (a Pilot Vpen, actually) in my purse to scribble notes. Heck, I even keep one on my bedside table since I always seem to think of something important right before I fall asleep…
Beryl says
PILOT ME!
I always keep both pen and pencil in my purse. Plus a lot of scratch papers to make lists.
Ashley Reed says
PILOT ME!
I prefer pen and paper, and my pen of choice is a nice felt-tipped guy, usually in a fun color. I use enough boring black at work – sometimes a girl needs a little green (or orange!) in her life!
Andrea says
Pilot me!! I am the queen of the post its!
Erin says
PILOT ME!
I carry around a ballpoint pen in my purse, and I am very particular about my pens (they have to have a sharp point!). I also use Notes on my iPhone for grocery lists, etc.
Rebecca says
Pilot me!
I’ve loved Pilot pens since I discovered them as a high school student. I typically have an assortment of 2-7 pens in my handbag and several pens and pencils at my desk, in my kitchen junk drawer, and on a tray on the coffee table. I jot down ideas in a small notebook I keep in my bag or in a larger binder when I have time to more longform writing.
Ceci Bean says
PILOT ME!
I’m all about the sticky notes. And I’m totally guilty of adding things I’ve already finished just so I can check ’em off. I feel so productive! Ha.
Jackie says
Pilot Me!!
I never use pencils, I really dislike the look of gray on paper (I’m that weird!), so I keep a collection of colorful pens. I fell in love with purple ballpoint pens in middle school, and must keep some on every desk & in every bag. Next color choices are hot pink and red (as a standby!).
Julie says
PIlot Me! I’m still old school and love nothing more than a nice pen and cute notepad!
Becky says
PILOT ME!
i keep several pens of different colors in my purse at all times
Kim says

I’m old school … I like everything written down (in pencil preferably) in my full sized planner. I buy the same one every year and swear by it… it has EVERYTHING in it!
Amanda says

I’m usually a pretty diligent pen&paper list maker. But I do have to admit that ever since my iphone came into my life, Suri has been doing a lot of my note taking and to-do lists for me.
Jennifer Cooper says
Pilot Me! I love Pilot gel pens, my favorite.
