Clearly I’m not the only one who loves a good writing utensil (and Target card) as this giveaway reached our 10,000 entry cap within just 24 hours. Nice work team! So that means we get to crown a winner early. That lucky writer is… Heather F (who “writes notes on the back of envelopes and then loses them. Argh.”) Congrats Heather!
This sounds kinda weird, but I’m very particular about my writing tools. So when the folks at Pilot noticed that we tend to write with their products, they wanted to thank us by passing some freebies along. But you know we don’t take them, so we’re paying it forward in the form of a $500 prize to one of you. Now, before you start figuring out what the heck you’re gonna do with $500 worth of pens – let me stop you. While they’ll keep your hands busy with a variety of pens and highlighters (even some erasable varieties) they’re also gonna let our lucky winner pick out $150 worth of Levenger notebooks and organizers (since we could all use a little organization this time of year). Oh, and to round out the $500 prize, how does a $200 Target gift card sound? That way you can pick up any other items you need to get 2013 off to a productive and organized start.
- PRIZE: An assortment of Pilot products plus $150 towards the Levenger notebooks of your choice and a $200 Target gift card (total value $500).
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PILOT ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … your favorite way to take notes or scribble down a message. Do you always keep a ballpoint pen in your pocket or purse? Do you swear by pencils so that you can erase your misspellings? Or are you 100% digital and prefer to rely on phone apps and voice memos to keep you organized?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 16th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States and Canada.
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of

Pilot me! I’m a ballpoint pen girl, tried and true! I’ll write on just about anything I can find. I just started grad school and was SO thankful to discover that other people still use pen/paper, too!

I have tried to go purely digital, but it just didn’t work. I think my habit of carrying both a planner and a small notebook with me everywhere I went in college stuck and I can’t seem to shake it!
Stephanie says
PILOT ME!
Sticky notes and pencil all the way! If I type it on my phone, I’ll never read it.
LoriD says

PILOT ME!!! Pilot tecpoints in black + good old fashioned paper = my very happy lists. :)
Pamela says
PILOT ME! I use a combination of traditional pen and paper list making and digital notes. For work, it’s pen and paper all the way, and I do always try to have a pen with me at all times. For groceries, I have gone digital so I just have to pull out my phone, rather than carry around an extra item at the store.
Alyssa says
PILOT ME! Black ballpoints and legal notebooks, always. My office is essentially a pen-and-notebook fortress!
Laurie says
PILOT ME!
I use both paper and digital methods to try to keep myself organized. I pretty much always have to jot stuff down when I think of it or it will flit its way out of my brain never to be found again. Plus, I really, really like pens. And paper. And notebooks. And pretty much any and all office supplies.
Caroline says
PILOT ME! I am crazy about my lists and really writing down anything so I love a good notebook or agenda and nice pens.
Amy says

I used the same type of pencil through high school, college, and grad school! I had a stockpile in case they were discontinued! OCD much? Now I’m a picky pen girl when I’m not desperate for something that still has ink in it!
Laura says
Pilot me! As a teacher, post-it lists are my best friend. I especially love the lined variety. :)

PILOT ME! I grab whatever I see (usually a pen or highlighter and a bridal magazine) and jot down the info on the closest free space I can (in the margins, on a Tiffanys ad, whatever)…

So…I used to be an engineer, and I had to write with a pencil for pretty much everything. I got really tired of engineering and I think I’m boycotting pencils in honor of my career change. Now I’m a ballpoint-pen girl, all the way. And sticky notes! I leave them everywhere.
Kelly says

I always keep a small notebook with me in my purse and I always, always, always write with a blue pen. It seems a little more cheerful than a black pen. Don’t ask me why… I’ve some how justified it in my head that it makes sense.
Caroline Howse says

I love to use a mechanical pencil. It’s a huge pet peeve of mine to use a dull pencil (makes my skin crawl), so I love that mechanical ones are always sharp.
Kyla says
Pilot me. I do one to-do list at the beginning of the day and work from that while jotting notes underneath throughout the day.
