Clearly I’m not the only one who loves a good writing utensil (and Target card) as this giveaway reached our 10,000 entry cap within just 24 hours. Nice work team! So that means we get to crown a winner early. That lucky writer is… Heather F (who “writes notes on the back of envelopes and then loses them. Argh.”) Congrats Heather!
This sounds kinda weird, but I’m very particular about my writing tools. So when the folks at Pilot noticed that we tend to write with their products, they wanted to thank us by passing some freebies along. But you know we don’t take them, so we’re paying it forward in the form of a $500 prize to one of you. Now, before you start figuring out what the heck you’re gonna do with $500 worth of pens – let me stop you. While they’ll keep your hands busy with a variety of pens and highlighters (even some erasable varieties) they’re also gonna let our lucky winner pick out $150 worth of Levenger notebooks and organizers (since we could all use a little organization this time of year). Oh, and to round out the $500 prize, how does a $200 Target gift card sound? That way you can pick up any other items you need to get 2013 off to a productive and organized start.
- PRIZE: An assortment of Pilot products plus $150 towards the Levenger notebooks of your choice and a $200 Target gift card (total value $500).
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PILOT ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … your favorite way to take notes or scribble down a message. Do you always keep a ballpoint pen in your pocket or purse? Do you swear by pencils so that you can erase your misspellings? Or are you 100% digital and prefer to rely on phone apps and voice memos to keep you organized?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 16th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States and Canada.
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of

PILOT ME!
I love pen and paper, but I tend to misplace my lists – so google keeps my master lists and calendar in impossible to lose format.

I can’t write with anything but a black ink gel pen!
Kate says
pilot me! I’m very particular about my pens as a lefty, because I smudge ink easily. But I always keep a blue pen and yellow post-it nearby, especially at work.
Ashley C says

I love keeping a good pen and notebook in my purse.
Mark says
PILOT ME!
At work I’m all digital, but at home I prefer pen and paper.
Jessica says
PILOT ME!
I’m definitely a pen and paper person. (It drives my husband crazy because he does everything electronically!)
I’m also a Target person. :)
Amanda says
PILOT ME! I couldn’t function without post-its and pens. I make lists for days!
Jenn says
PILOT ME!
I try my best to use my phone or computer for lists (less paper waste!), but there’s something so satisfying about crossing things off a hand-written list. You just don’t get that with a delete key!
Lauren says
Pilot me! I am a fan of rollerball pens and the good ol fashioned post it note.
Kathryn says
PILOT ME! Pilot pens are amazing! I prefer G-2 series :)
Megan says
PILOT ME! I am all about post it notes. I make lists, leave them all over the place and then forget what I need :)
Stacey says

I’m a pen and paper list maker!
Lauren Arruda says
PILOT ME!
I always seem to use a different type of paper to take notes on. Prefer a ballpoint pen or a hardcore mechanical pencil.
Kelly says
PILOT ME! I’m a pretty digital person and make lists on my phone (mainly because I can barely read my own handwriting). But my husband still hand writes all his lists and it very particular about his writing utensils…I blame it on the fact that his degree is in industrial design and every list he writes is so perfect and neat it could be framed;)
Amy says
Pilot Me! I make lists in digital format, in a notebook made for lists, and on random pieces of paper that I find at the last minute. I prefer the pilot colored gel pens with a retractable point. Green is my favorite. I am also a teacher and these are good for grading papers!
Natalie says
PILOT ME!
I love the feeling of handwriting notes. I prefer mechanical pencils for “note taking” but pens for everyday scribbles and lists.

Pilot me! I’m an “old school” kinda girl…..love handwriting things my whole life. And…..my favorite pen is the Pilot! Specifically, the Pilot Precise V5 using the black, extra fine. Nothing better or longer-lasting. I know I sound like a commercial (if there were any for pens now) but it’s the best, the bomb, etc. :)
LindsayB says
Pilot me! I am pretty much digital, but I so love a good smooth flowing blue ink pen.
garnet says
Pilot Me! If I am out and want to remember something, I like to send myself emails. That way I will be sure to see it the next time I am home.

Pilot me!
I keep trying to do lists for organization on the computer, but the act of crossing things off on paper can not be replicated. Also, as a fiction writer, there really are times when the work flows better on paper. No idea why, but it does. I’m the pen queen at work and people try to take my nice ones. I bite.
Anne with an e says
Pilot me! I usually buy Pilot pens for my husband, but my writing utensil of choice for to do lists will always be a colorful Sharpie.
Maegan says
Pilot Me – I prefer the Pilot G-2 in electric blue. I also keep my notes on scrap paper instead of in a notebook. It makes it tricky to find what I am looking for but it makes me feel like I am recycling paper. The Pilot pen also makes my cursive writing seem fancy. I am a huge nerd…and engi-nerd to be clear.

PILOT ME!
Ugh, I love pen and paper so much. I seriously start my work day every day by writing a pen and paper to do list. I’m so crazy about the colors matching that another coworker crossed another thing off in a different color and I secretly rewrote the whole thing! New stuff would be wonderful :)
Stephanie says
PILOT ME! Have to write things down, it’s better than digital! Would love this prize, I’m addicted to things like this. :)
Erin says

I use whatever is handy! Most of the time I just use my brain thinking I can remember. Yea, that never works.

Rebecca says
PILOT ME!!
I’m a 2nd grade teacher, so I write notes to myself all.day.long. I’m obsessed with having good pens around because there’s nothing worse than frantically scrabbling around for a pen with 6 2nd-graders hovering nearby asking questions.
Also, I’m always the purse girl, so my husband, friends, strangers on the street…all ask ME for a writing utensil. Haha.
Michelle says
Pilot Meee Please! Fingers crossed :) A few posts ago, you mentioned that you use a regular notebook to jot everything down so it’s all in one place–and I’ve since adopted the same method. Thanks, Sherry!
Ohh, and a nice smooth ball-point pen sure doesn’t hurt…btw, this is one of many things I’ve copied from YHL ;) Luv.Your.Blog..For. Reals.

Pilot Me!!! I make lists and notes on any scrap of paper I can find. I do like Pilot medium point blue ink pens, always blue ink!

PILOT ME!!! I keep a fine tipped pen in my diaper bag. Never know when you will have to write something down.
Jaqui says

PILOT ME! I always keep a pen in my purse along with some small sticky notes – after I jot something down it gets stuck to the back of my cell phone so I remember!
