Clearly I’m not the only one who loves a good writing utensil (and Target card) as this giveaway reached our 10,000 entry cap within just 24 hours. Nice work team! So that means we get to crown a winner early. That lucky writer is… Heather F (who “writes notes on the back of envelopes and then loses them. Argh.”) Congrats Heather!
This sounds kinda weird, but I’m very particular about my writing tools. So when the folks at Pilot noticed that we tend to write with their products, they wanted to thank us by passing some freebies along. But you know we don’t take them, so we’re paying it forward in the form of a $500 prize to one of you. Now, before you start figuring out what the heck you’re gonna do with $500 worth of pens – let me stop you. While they’ll keep your hands busy with a variety of pens and highlighters (even some erasable varieties) they’re also gonna let our lucky winner pick out $150 worth of Levenger notebooks and organizers (since we could all use a little organization this time of year). Oh, and to round out the $500 prize, how does a $200 Target gift card sound? That way you can pick up any other items you need to get 2013 off to a productive and organized start.
- PRIZE: An assortment of Pilot products plus $150 towards the Levenger notebooks of your choice and a $200 Target gift card (total value $500).
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PILOT ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … your favorite way to take notes or scribble down a message. Do you always keep a ballpoint pen in your pocket or purse? Do you swear by pencils so that you can erase your misspellings? Or are you 100% digital and prefer to rely on phone apps and voice memos to keep you organized?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 16th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States and Canada.
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of

Pilot Me!
I take note in pen, a few years ago I swore by pencil though…I also write everything down. I probably have 3 packing lists going right now for the same trip, when I think of something I just write it all down even if I have it written somewhere else!

I’m totes a pen and paper girl. And working in an ad agency, I’ve always got Sharpies on hand. It’s pretty scary when I clean out my purse and, like, 7 sharpies fall out.

PILOT ME!
I keep my handy black gel ink pen with me and like writing things down but I’ve been utilizing my phone calendar frequently so I can remember what I’m supposed to do (and when my favorite tv shows come on!)
Katy says
Pilot me! I do love a good handwritten list on post-its or in a little notebook, but I also do use my phone when it’s handy. Usually just for important dates because my notebook will not ping to remind me when the time comes.
Jaime says
Pilot me!
I love post- it notes!
Sharon L says
PILOT ME!
I hate those cheapo 12 for $1 pens I usually buy, I need some dependable writing tools! I am a list maker, I need my lists.
Maggie says
PILOT ME!
I scribble down notes with a pen and paper but I love my Faber-Castell PITT artist pen for writing nice notes.
Andrea says
PILOT ME!
I guess I’m a little old fashioned. I still like a good old pen and crossing things off my “to-do” list. The digital comparison of that doesn’t seem to make me feel as accomplished! Silly, I know :-)
Steena says
Pilot me! Love those Precise V5s.
Brandi says
PILOT ME!! I’m OCD so I always have pens and sticky notes around. I love making lists and $500 worth of office supplies will help keep my busy life in check!
Katie O says
Pilot me! I make to-do lists like they’re running out of style! I use the “sticky notes” function of my computer a lot, but I also have random lists on the fridge, in notebooks, on the floor . . . etc. Obviously I need some organizational tools!

Christine Brenco says
PILOT ME!
I’m a “whatever is within reach” kinda girl. Marker. Pen. Pencil. Crayon. Lipstick. If it draws a line, I’m using it. =)
Colleen says
PILOT ME!
I am a tried and true pen-and-paper user for things like to-do lists and grocery lists. I don’t mind typing most things, but I like writing those out.
Meghan C says
PILOT ME! Even though I love my iphone, I still love taking good old fashioned paper and pen notes. I’m very picky though, the pen has to be *just* right and the paper too. I have been known to rewrite little grocery lists, etc. just because everything wasn’t quite right :)
Amberly says
Pilot me! I love a pen and paper, although I have been playing around with the Paper app and a stylus!
nic says
PILOT ME!

Bryanna says
PILOT ME… I am pen obsessed!
Kelli Luebbe says
Pilot Me!
I use a mixture of pens and pencils for my different list. Nothing more satisfying then crossing things off!
Fatime says
PILOT ME! Having an MA in English Literature, I would not be able to enlist the number/type of pens I have used up for taking notes until I got from my Freshman year to my degree. But neither of those pens was ever so good to use (for myself and our planet as well) as the B2P pens from Pilot I have discovered a good five years ago. Besides of being eco-friendly (the body made up almost entirely of the material of reused soda bottles), they last extra long, and the lines produced are seamless from start to finish. I have not bought or used any other make of pens ever since!
Paulina says
PILOT ME! Love taking notes on paper, and a good pen is always useful :)
Rachel says
PILOT ME! old school blue ball point all the way…
Janice T says
Pilot me
I like the pen and paper list.
Kelsey W says
PILOT ME, PLEASE! I keep a teeny tiny notebook in my bag at all times, and I usually write my lists in pencil. When I find a really great pen at home, I stash it away somewhere secret so that no one else can use it :)
Ashley says
Pilot me!
A combination of everything – lists in pen and/or pencil, keeping notes in Outlook calendar, emailing myself, etc.
Judy says
PILOT ME! I LOVE my pens! I have not yet completely conformed to online/digital calendars and still carry a planner around with me. Lose it, and I am totally lost in the world. I have different colored pens for different things and the only time I use pencil is to pencil in the address of a friend who is “nomadic” (one they buy, it goes in pen!) and tentative plans. Otherwise, it’s a blue-black ink and colors for me, baby!
Anna says
Pilot me!
I always keep a notebook and pen handy. Although I have been known to scribble copious amounts on the randomn post it.
Sara Lewis says
PILOT ME! I am obsessed with office supplies, I always have an assortment of colored pens on me at all times!

Pam says
Pilot me! I usually write with a ball point or uni-ball. Would be cool to try out some different ones.

Julia R says

I hardly ever write anything anymore – I jot everything down in my iPhone – but my husband has a deep deep love for Pilot V7 pens.
Samantha Severson says
Pilot Me!
I love writing in pencil because it looks so crisp and clean. But it has to have a very sharp point.
Erin says
Pilot Me!
I write lots of notes on little pads of paper and post-its!
Marci says
PILOT ME! I always lose pens, so I have to take notes using my iphone…that, and I will occasionally still scribble notes on my hand in marker like a middle-schooler.
Megan H. says
PILOT ME!
I love a good notepad and a pen for my constant list making. I have a list for everything!
Brooke says
PILOT ME!
I’m always using my phone or post-it notes, never seem to be able to find a pen!
Jennifer says
PILOT ME! I am not particular at all but my husband will only use one specific kind of pilot gel pen that is smaller than the normal ones and very hard to find in our small-ish town. He’s a weirdo!
sarah says
PILOT ME!
I cannot write well without a nice pen. My hand simply won’t perform for a less-than-decent writing utensil!
adriane says
Pilot Me! I prefer felt tipped pens.
Heather says
PILOT ME
I’m a gel pen (purple) and post it girl myself. They can always be found in my purse and throughout the house. Drives the husband crazy who only uses phone apps anymore.
