Clearly I’m not the only one who loves a good writing utensil (and Target card) as this giveaway reached our 10,000 entry cap within just 24 hours. Nice work team! So that means we get to crown a winner early. That lucky writer is… Heather F (who “writes notes on the back of envelopes and then loses them. Argh.”) Congrats Heather!
This sounds kinda weird, but I’m very particular about my writing tools. So when the folks at Pilot noticed that we tend to write with their products, they wanted to thank us by passing some freebies along. But you know we don’t take them, so we’re paying it forward in the form of a $500 prize to one of you. Now, before you start figuring out what the heck you’re gonna do with $500 worth of pens – let me stop you. While they’ll keep your hands busy with a variety of pens and highlighters (even some erasable varieties) they’re also gonna let our lucky winner pick out $150 worth of Levenger notebooks and organizers (since we could all use a little organization this time of year). Oh, and to round out the $500 prize, how does a $200 Target gift card sound? That way you can pick up any other items you need to get 2013 off to a productive and organized start.
- PRIZE: An assortment of Pilot products plus $150 towards the Levenger notebooks of your choice and a $200 Target gift card (total value $500).
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PILOT ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … your favorite way to take notes or scribble down a message. Do you always keep a ballpoint pen in your pocket or purse? Do you swear by pencils so that you can erase your misspellings? Or are you 100% digital and prefer to rely on phone apps and voice memos to keep you organized?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 16th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States and Canada.
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
- ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of

Pilot Me! I’ve tried using my phones apps, but I depend on post-its and pens for all my ToDo lists.
Analicia Nolan says
Pilot me! I am obsessed with mechanical pencils in assorted colors. They make my handwriting so much neater than writing in pen! And I do A LOT of writing since I am a strict paper planner kind of girl…

I keep pens on me always. Including one I don’t like for when someone, inevitably, asks to borrow it…and doesn’t return it.
Betsy says
PILOT ME! a colorful pen and a list.

Amy S. says
Pilot me! I always have a pen handy. I work in QA and we can only use pen and only blue or black ink for completing records so it is something I have carried into my personal life, lol. I do like to go rogue at home though and throw in a red, green or purple pen on occasion :)

Pilot Me!!!
Office pen thief here, my office mates know to hide their good pens when I’m lurking the cubicles.

What’s better than a pen and Post-It? I tried going digital back in the day, till I smashed the screen of my Palm Pilot. A Pilot pen and moleskine weekly planner is a much better way to go, I think!
Kate says

I tend to be fully digital in my private life, but at work, I have millions of post-its littering my desk – maybe not the best system, but it tends to work for me.

(ME! Not them!) ;)
I appreciate a fine gel pen as next as the next human, but I typically will roll with whatever I can rummage up first. Which is often a broken crayon.
Becca says
PILOT ME! I have to write EVERYTHING down, which terrifies me because I am only 37, but I swear my brain is nearing 60. I have a planner that I rely heavily on and my calendar on my slide phone. :) And pens? They sprout legs and leave my purse, drawers, and any surface I set them on. I swear.

Post it notes are everywhere in our house. My husband couldn’t live without his lists.
Heather says
PILOT ME!! I am a bit of a writing utensil hoarder, I probably have 15 pens and pencils in my purse right now! I’m an engineer and prefer pencils but I’ve never met a colorful pen I didn’t love!

I never enter contests for freebies, but I couldn’t pass by the opportunity to win free writing utensils for my husband! He’s obsessed and oh-so particular about what writing instruments he uses. When it comes time to clean out his desk drawer I think parting with his pens & mechanical pencils are like saying goodbye to friends.
Enjoy reading the posts! Thanks

I’m a mix of digital and old school. I THINK better with a pen in my hand but find apps useful as well. Shopping lists are digital and synced with my husband so there’s no excuse not to pick up what’s on the list of someone is at the grocery, Dick’s, the hardware store, etc. Limitation: Apps don’t read minds. Pen and paper (especially Levenger paper!!! Swoon!) help me to organize my thoughts and plan. There’s just no substitute.

I try to take notes on my phone to eliminate too many papers sitting around or in my purse, plus if it’s on my phone, I know where to find it. However, some things I just prefer writing it out on paper, especially if I’m sketching stuff out! And if we’re getting crazy, my favorite pen is the Pilot G-2. Love those!

AMA says
PILOT ME. Mostly all digital which leaves me searching for a pen when I desperately need one!
Meghan says
Pilot me! I’m a teacher so I pretty much have pens stashed everywhere- gotta check all pockets carefully before laundry. My list making generally happens on the desktop of my computer though… harder to lose!

Pilot me! I make e-lists, but jot many notes on a paper calendar, as well.
Allyson says
PILOT ME! The only pen I use is a Pilot G-2 07! Usually in black. I’m a purist and a pen snob.
