Clearly I’m not the only one who loves a good writing utensil (and Target card) as this giveaway reached our 10,000 entry cap within just 24 hours. Nice work team! So that means we get to crown a winner early. That lucky writer is… Heather F (who “writes notes on the back of envelopes and then loses them. Argh.”) Congrats Heather!
This sounds kinda weird, but I’m very particular about my writing tools. So when the folks at Pilot noticed that we tend to write with their products, they wanted to thank us by passing some freebies along. But you know we don’t take them, so we’re paying it forward in the form of a $500 prize to one of you. Now, before you start figuring out what the heck you’re gonna do with $500 worth of pens – let me stop you. While they’ll keep your hands busy with a variety of pens and highlighters (even some erasable varieties) they’re also gonna let our lucky winner pick out $150 worth of Levenger notebooks and organizers (since we could all use a little organization this time of year). Oh, and to round out the $500 prize, how does a $200 Target gift card sound? That way you can pick up any other items you need to get 2013 off to a productive and organized start.
- PRIZE: An assortment of Pilot products plus $150 towards the Levenger notebooks of your choice and a $200 Target gift card (total value $500).
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PILOT ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … your favorite way to take notes or scribble down a message. Do you always keep a ballpoint pen in your pocket or purse? Do you swear by pencils so that you can erase your misspellings? Or are you 100% digital and prefer to rely on phone apps and voice memos to keep you organized?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 16th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States and Canada.
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of

Pilot me !!!!!
Most of my note taking is on the iPad and iPhone . However, at work, it is all pen baby !!! Black pen as per doctor’s orders!

My favorite are orange pens. They’re just the right shade to really pop, but they don’t carry the baggage of the stereotypical red pen for editing and comments.

I love me some colorful pens and an organized calendar and to do list. All color coded of course!

pen and paper all the way. I once erased my entire grocery list on accident when I sat on my phone….never again!
Megan says
PILOT ME! I am very weird in that I am so attached to my email I find the best way to keep reminders is to email myself and then flag them so they stay on top. :/
Karen says
Pilot me! I have been trying to take notes on my iPhone. It is neater, but I prefer to use beautiful paper and a fantastic pen.
Chrissy says
PILOT ME! I love pretty colored gel pens (a different color for each family member in the calendar) and mechanical pencils, along with some post-it notes in all sorts of colors!
Helen D says
PILOT ME!! It’s gotta be a ball point, rolling round in the bottom of my purse. Help me become more organizes, please!!

Sticky notes and a good pencil all the way. But my planner is my baby, so the notes are everywhere! Even though I have a phone (who doesn’t?) I love the old-fashioned, analog feeling of crossing off a to-do list, or carefully penciling stuff into my organizer.
Heather says
pilot me! pilot G-2 05’s to be specific. in black. only black. ;)

Pen and Post-Its all the way! I just remember things better when I’ve written it down at least once.

I’m an old fashion type of gal and still use pen and paper. My phone has a ton of cool apps but I don’t like them as much as my trusty hand written notes.

I keep copies of my favorite pen close by so I can use it whenever I need to. I did finally learn how to write only on paper so I didn’t mark on my hands anymore!

I am a notorious note taker and list fiend. Seriously. It’s my most annoying habit. Right now I have not one, not two, but THREE notebooks in my purse. I have a ranking of note importance for which notebook gets used. Yes, I truly am that nerdy. :)
Erin says
PILOT ME!
These days, I use the notes function in my phone to make “to do” or “to buy” lists and then cut and paste things to a “done” section once I’ve completed the tasks or made the purchases. Otherwise, it ends up an empty list without the satisfaction of seeing how much I accomplished!
Jenni says

I shall always continue to write to-do lists with plain ‘ol paper and pen, regardless of how “digital” everything else becomes. There’s just something very satisfying about physically crossing something off your list!

Kristen says

I prefer pens..and my favorite way to scribble things down (which is almost always lists!) is in a small notebook. I think I read about it here, keeping a list in a book instead of on a little post-it and losing them everywhere. Works like a charm!
Lizbeth says
PILOT ME!
I keep pens stashed all over the place so I can write stuff down- I’m too fussy about pencils to use them on a regular basis! :)
