And the randomly selected person who’s starting their new year off with prize is… Jennifer (who answered this week’s question with a Canadian folk lyric – which I had to look up, mind you: “Lukey’s boat is painted green, Ha, me boys!”). Congrats Jennifer!
Raise your hand if you know what a bathymetric chart is. I didn’t before this giveaway, but it’s basically like a topographic map for what lies underwater. But the more important thing to know is that the married duo behind Below the Boat turns these charts into gorgeous, laser-cut, hand-assembled works of art. They’re beautifully intricate and fascinatingly detailed. And they’ve got lots of bodies of water from the east coast, west coast, and even some lakes in between. One of you is gonna win up to $300 worth of bathymetric chart-y goodnesst this week. So… ahoy!

Boat me! Kayaks for us. Our first home together was a tiny cabin on a lake in Alaska with no running water, and we loved every minute there. Now, 8 moves later thanks to a military life, we dream of those quiet days spent on the water.

BOAT ME!
I’m in the any kind of boat is my ultimate nightmare category. I watched Titanic at too young an age and I find boats very nerve wracking! Bigger boats are easier to handle than tinnys though. Though my husband is very pro-cruise so I expect I’ll be getting some sedatives for a cruise vacation at some point!
Kacey says

BOAT ME! I just got a single person kayak for Christmas and have managed to not roll it and get over my fear of open water! Next step: building up my muscles to heft it in and out of the pick up everytime I use…it’s heavy!

Lena says
BOAT ME!
My perfect idea of a ‘boat venture’ would be a kayak on one of our local rivers…Minnesota/Wisconsin. I find it to be the most peaceful way to connect to my spirit through nature.
debi says
boat me!!! ski boat all way so that I can slalom behind it!

The only boat I wouldn’t want to be on is Dexter’s Slice of Life.
Carrie says
Boat me! A cruise, most definitely a cruise!
Tara G says
BOAT ME!!
I think a cruise ship would be my first choice. (: I’ll admit, the open ocean scares me. I love going to aquariums and seeing sharks and octopi. I love watching Discovery shows about the giant squid and whales. I love visiting Sea World, but I can’t ever bring myself to feed the stingrays. I grew up going to VA beach every summer. We went to FL one summer and something bit (or a piece of glass cut) me…we have no idea, I didn’t stick around to see and that was it for the ocean and me.
Corey says
Boat Me!! No boats for me, seasickness :(
Tasha says
BOAT ME! A luxury cruise for sure!
Chloe says
BOAT ME! I’d want to venture out on a submarine, but if that doesn’t count as a boat, maybe a tugboat or one of those huge aircraft carriers.
Cindy S. says
BOAT ME!!!
Any kind of boat is OK by me—zipping along in a speed boat or on our waverunner, going on a luxury cruise, gliding over the waves in a sailboat; they’re all good!
Anne says
BOAT ME! I’d go out in my dad’s little dinghy :)
ABC says
Boat me! Something large and unsinkable.
Moriah says
Boat me! Bareboat sailing through the Carribbean. Blissful.
mary maci says
BOAT ME! Cruise around the world – as long as we’re dreaming, might as well make it big!
These charts look fabulous!
Happy New Year to you and your lovely family!
