And the randomly selected person who’s starting their new year off with prize is… Jennifer (who answered this week’s question with a Canadian folk lyric – which I had to look up, mind you: “Lukey’s boat is painted green, Ha, me boys!”). Congrats Jennifer!
Raise your hand if you know what a bathymetric chart is. I didn’t before this giveaway, but it’s basically like a topographic map for what lies underwater. But the more important thing to know is that the married duo behind Below the Boat turns these charts into gorgeous, laser-cut, hand-assembled works of art. They’re beautifully intricate and fascinatingly detailed. And they’ve got lots of bodies of water from the east coast, west coast, and even some lakes in between. One of you is gonna win up to $300 worth of bathymetric chart-y goodnesst this week. So… ahoy!
- PRIZE: Any single framed map up to $300 (or any combination of two maps that add up to $300) from Below The Boat.

There’s one of the ocean at the end of our street. Must. Have. We’re hoping to buy a boat this year so I’d love to bomb around the islands on a little boat made for five. Fresh crab, prawning, sunny days exploring the beaches and coves of our beautiful coast. Perfection.

Boat Me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love these maps. I would venture out on a very large sailboat and cruise the Hawaiian Islands and the Carribean with my husband, three kids and two dogs. I must be crazy. Maybe I will just escape by myself. ;) But, there is that cruise that goes around the world. That would be great.

Boat me!!
I’d have to have to choose a canal boat as it’d be more or less guaranteed smooth sailing and if I didn’t like it I could just hop off! Last time I was on a catamaran there were more people being seasick than not as the sea was so choppy, it was very grim and put me off boats for life!
Becca says
Boat Me! I’d love to take a river cruise or an Antarctic cruise, but my favorite time on the water is spent in the bass boat fishing.
Katie says
BOAT ME!
My son and I are setting sail on our third annual “Cruise with the Grandparents” at the end of January. It’s a week of fun, sun, and spending time with faraway family.
But if I had my choice, I would love to take a romantic cruise through the Greek Isles. It’s always been on my vacation wish list.
Emilie says
BOAT ME! I’ve been kayaking since I was a little girl (I started out in the tiniest of kayaks), and the ideal “boat trip” for me, would be going by kayak, around all the small islands south of the part of Denmark called Funen, with tents and sleepingbags. Then stopping by one of the deserted islands, and cooking over a fire.
Of course, good weather would be required.
