Chelly M. says
FABRIC ME!!
Chelly is short for Rochelle. No family meaning, just a name they picked!
Sienna says
Fabric Me!
My parents got my name from a paintbox years before I was born. It would have been my older brother’s name if he was a girl but as he wasn’t it was saved for me. :)
Amy says
FABRIC ME!
No special significance behind my name, but I do know that I would have been Frank, Jr. if I’d been a boy. So I dodged a bullet there! :)
Arnice says
FABRIC ME! My mom said when she had me, she was so happy that something wonderful came from her and she said “You are nice.” That’s how I got my name (pronounced are-neice).
anne says
FABRIC ME!
My mom says she was meditating, at the time didn’t know she was pregnant, and heard my voice say “hi, I’m anne, and I’m special” she replied “hi anne, welcome to our family, we’re all special here”
…..I wish I were kidding. my friends love that story.
Sarah S says
FABRIC ME! Sarah means princess in Hebrew :) no exciting story behind why my parents picked it though.
Jennifer says
FABRIC ME!! I’m a Jennifer and there is no meaning in that. Even though my mother carries Grace as her middle name from my grandma and great grandma! So all 3 of my children have family names. My middle name was a family name just skipped the Grace?!
Sarah says
Fabric Me!
My name is Sarah May– Sarah, my parents just liked. May was after my grandmother, Mable (nickname was May). The funny part of the story is that I was supposed to be Sarah DeLacy after the OTHER grandmother (who knew that name was a possibility) but they changed their minds in the hospital. Not sure if feathers were ruffled, but I was close with both of my grandmothers, so it clearly did not matter in the end.
When I was little, I really, really wanted to be Katie or Sabrina.
Kristin says
FABRIC ME! My mom liked the name Kristin, which was the name of one of her friends. She couldn’t think of a good middle name for it, so she named me Mary Kristin, which worked because her mother was Mary Lucille, but was called Lucy. Then it ended up that her friend Kristin’s middle name was Mary! Whew…you asked.
Lynds says
FABRIC ME!
I’m adopted, so I’m not sure why my birthparents chose it. My parents changed the spelling from ‘Lindsey’ to ‘Lyndsey’ when I was adopted though. My mom’s middle name is Lynn, so that was her motivation :)
Jillian {Her Split Ends} says
Fabric Me!! My momma heard my name on a soap opera and loved it ;)

AngelaKr says
Fabric me”
In the excitement of my birth my father blurted out the name ‘angela lea’… Unfortunately my mothers middle name is lynn and he hasn’t lived it down since!
Stephanie says
FABRIC ME! Stephanie is the female version of Steven, my dad’s name!
Robin says
FABRIC ME!
So the meaning behind my name is this: the woman in the hospital bed next to my mother named me. I am a twin and my parents had two boys’ names picked out and also a girl’s name, but it apparently never occurred to them they might have TWO girls. So I was “Baby B” for a few days until my mother’s roommate said she always liked the name Robin. And that’s what I was named.
Kerri says
FABRIC ME!
I’ve always been a little jealous that my brother’s first and middle names were family names. Mine was just a name that my parents liked. Although I like it a lot more than some of the alternatives they considered.
Gayle says
FABRIC ME! My maiden name was Gayle W h e a t l e y – I translate it as a strong wind over a field of wheat and NO I do not like my name! …. I added spaces for my last name so Google does not index it seeing I do not want to offend anyone with the same last name :{
layne says
Fabric Me!
My parents cleverly combined their middle names (Laura and Wayne) and came up with my name, Layne. I love the special meaning behind it!
Emily says
Fabric Me!!!!
My mom wanted to name me Emma Lee but apparently my grandma wasn’t digging it. So Emily Rebecca I became.. Rebecca after my great aunt. When I was little my family called me Emmy Becky.
Julia says
FABRIC ME!
I was named after the Beatles song, “Julia” about John Lennon’s mom. It was after he was killed and they were playing all of his songs. My parents hadn’t been able to agree on a name until they heard that song. My song for the father-daughter dance at my wedding was “Julia.” I love my name. I would never want anything different.
courtney fruchter says
“FABRIC ME!”
It’s Irish, I think that did it!
Carrie says
I’m on a streak of bad luck but what the heck, doesn’t hurt to try.
FABRIC ME!
My name is after my grandfather’s grandmother. He suggested it and my parents both liked it. My middle name is my mother’s maiden name. I often have wished my middle name was my first and likely would have named my daughter that had I had one. My first name is very common and doesn’t really suit me.
Heather says
FABRIC ME!
no special meaning with my name, that I know of… my parents just liked it. Although, my mom enjoys gardening and thought it was hilarious to plant a “little heather” every year.
Autumn Stan says
FABRIC ME! My parents chose my name because they liked it, and it was fitting, since I was born in September. =)
Sarah says
FABRIC ME! Nothing special to my first name but my middle name is my grandmother’s.
Kelsey says
FABRIC ME! My name is Kelsey, which means “from the ship island.” My parents loved boating and met working at a lake resort, so the meaning spoke to them. :)
Whitley S. says
FABRIC ME!
Whitley is a family name, down south everyone thinks it’s my last name, but no really it’s my first. Every time I go the pharmacy I have to tell them they’re looking in the wrong place. It’s my grandmother’s maiden name on my mother’s side and since we’ve all been girls for 3 generations I guess I have to keep the name going some how.
Leah @ JustPluckingDaisies says
fabric me!!! i love my name. at the time it was a really unusual name even though it’s rather popular now.
Arlene says
Fabric Me! My first and middle name are the two middle names of my grandmothers =]
Emily says
FABRIC ME! I’m not named after anyone, but my name does mean industrious, hard working which is pretty accurate – so good choice folks!
Kourtney says
FABRIC ME! My parents spelled my name, Kourtney, with a “K” to go with my maiden name which also started with a “K” and now my mom says she didn’t think about me getting married someday and that changing. So now it doesn’t make as much sense for the different spelling… but I like it anyway. Thanks for the chance to win!
Ashley L says
Fabric me!
My parents picked my name because they both agree on it, although my mom says I was named after a character on a soap opera, my dad claims it was after his favorite movie. So I’m not sure but it fits me all the same! :)
Emily Janzen says
Fabric me! My mom & dad just liked my name :)
Naomi says
FABRIC ME!!
My name was the only name my parents agreed on, luckily for me I arrived the right gender :) It means pleasant.
I was born on the west coast where it is more commonly pronounced Ni-omi and my mom liked that better so that is the correct pronunciation but I grew up on the east coast and most people here say Nay-omi. I answer to either and really have no preference. I say Nay-omi if some asks me my name and they are spelling it as I say it but Ni-omi when I am just introducing myself.
Katharine says
Fabric me!
I always loved the spelling of my name, because it’s the same as Katharine Hepburn. I thought for years that was where my mom got it, but then asked, and no, she read it in a mystery novel somewhere and just liked it. I like the Hepburn tale better!
Robyn says
FABRIC ME!!!! Every day while my mom was pregnant she would hear “Rockin’ Robin” by the Jackson Five. So she decided to feminize it and add a y in place of the i. I’ve passed the “y” on to my daughter who is Camryn (and not Cameron):)
suzie dyer says
FABRIC ME!! I was named after Susan Hayworth, I guess it was popular in the early 60s
Jennifer Cooper says
Fabric Me! My mom just liked the name Jennifer. I like it too. Thanks Mom!
Kristin F says
FABRIC ME!
Actually, I wasn’t supposed to be a girl. What I meanis my mother thoroughly believed she was going to have a boy. This was in the age prior to ultrasounds, so she only had her wonderful intuition. Which was wrong. She had picked out Christopher for her baby boy and was thrown for a loop when I ended up being a girl. The story according to her is that her middle name is Christine, she decided to change it to a “K” and drop the “E”. My mother truly, truly believed she had made up my name on the spot as she’d never met or heard of Kristin. Imagine her surprise when she later met many Kristin’s of various spellings. And I found out later when I looked it up that my spelling is a true Scandinavian name, and my father’s side was Norwegian. So as I told her, she named me perfectly whether she realized it or not!
Denae Katzoff says
FABRIC ME!
I love my name! My father’s name is Dennis & my parents wanted me to have a female name similar to his, so Denae it was!
Katie says
FABRIC ME!
My parents couldn’t agree on a name at the hospital and the nurse suggested Katie and my parents ended up using it!
Brittany Tolman says
FABRIC ME! My middle name is my grandmother’s name, which I love. Nothing special about my first name though!
Erin says
My dad picked my name while my mom was resting after giving birth, she was not happy when she woke up. He named me after BJ’s daughter on the tv show MASH.
Valerie says
FABRIC ME!!
I was named after Valerie Bertinelli. I guess there could be worse things. :)
Alyssa Galvas says
FABRIC ME!!
I was named after a perfume my mom liked (Alyssa Ashley). I always wished I had a “cooler” name.
Kathy says
FABRIC ME!
My name comes from the favorite book my mom read: Katherine by Anya Seyton. So technically, I’m also named after Katherine de Roet, wife to John of Gaunt (who’s son became Edward IV). She was the mistress of John of Gaunt first, for decades before he was able to marry her after his second wife’s death. It’s kind of an amazing story!
The only thing I wish is that I had the name Jane in my name somewhere. Five generations of women had Jane in their name, but no one told my mom. Thankfully, I was able to continue the tradition and name my daughter after a character in a book AND with the middle name of Jane!
Cara says
FABRIC ME!! My name means beloved.
Lauren Reese says
FABRIC ME!
My parents picked it because it ‘rang’ with my last name (Buchholz…pronounced Buck Holtz…I don’t know if it rings…)
Danae says
FABRIC ME! My parents were all set to name me Alyssa and then happened to hear “Danae” just a few days before my birth – it was totally random!
Sravya says
FABRIC ME!
My mom loves music, so everyone in my house has musical names. My name means ‘Melody’. It also means ‘worth hearing’. And, oddly enough, Google says my name means ‘Vishnu’s heart’ – Vishnu is my husband’s name! :)
Amanda says
Fabric Me! My parents just liked it. I would have been Adam if I were a boy.
