After 10,000 interesting name origin stories, random.org has selected our winners as… Beth (who says “my dad picked it out and to this day I’m whole heartily a daddy’s girl.”) and Chelsea (who’s name story is: “My parents got my name from the 1981 movie, On Golden Pond. ‘Chelsea’ was played by Jane Fonda”) Congrats!
I realize from the name Online Fabric Store, you might have trouble guessing what this online store sells, so allow me to solve that mystery for ya. Fabric! And seemingly every kind of fabric – like upholstery, decor, quilting, apparel and even garden fabric. Which means that this week’s two winners (who are each getting $250 to spend there) could tackle anything from sewing some pillow covers or making a duvet to redoing the curtains in an entire room. And the cool thing about their system is that the more yardage you buy, the cheaper each yard gets – and once you get over that $50 mark, your shipping in the US is free.

FABRIC ME! My middle name is a family name, but my first name is just a good ole’ popular 80’s pick:)
Heather W says
FABRIC ME!!!
My first name (Heather)was actually my Mom’s second choice. My mom said she was watching The tonight show with Johnny Carson (I’m old!) and an actress was on who had just had a baby and her last name was very similiar to my maiden name. So, Johnny asked her what she named her baby girl and she said “Heather” and my Mom loved how it sounded and decided to name me that too instead.
Alexa says
FABRIC ME
Alexis was a popular name when I was born; my mom thought Alexa sounded better and had never heard it before. My middle name is after an aunt.

elizabeth says
fabric me! i’m named after my grandmother.
Meredith says
Fabric me! Nothing special about my name!
Kimberly says
FABRIC ME!”
I think my name literally means ‘fortress by the meadow’ and my nickname, Kim, means ‘chief.’ I don’t think my parents had that in mind when naming me, though. My middle name, however, I share with my aunt — really, my mom’s cousin, but whatever, details — Dianne.
If I were a boy, I would’ve been named Bobby . . .
Taylor says
Fabric me! Nothing particular about my name other than at the time my parents were being rather unique (especially in the 80s). But of course now there are tons of Taylors.
Christina says
FABRIC ME!!
I’m named after my great-grandmother, Anna. Well my middle name is after her. I love it because her son–my grandfather–is one of my all-time favorite people ever.
Trista G says
Fabric Me!
My parents named me after Tristen from the Arthurian legends, but the girl version obviously :) When I was younger I didn’t like that I had a “weird” name, but now I really like that there aren’t a million Tristas.

FABRIC ME!!
My parents started with a list and took turns crossing off til my name was left.
Melissa S says
FABRIC ME!
My name, Melissa was picked by my mom. I am the second of three girls. My dad picked my older sisters name and my mom picked my name. Together they both chose my younger sisters name. I think its really cute and hope that my husband and I can each pick our favorite of names to give our children. As for loving it, I do!
Megan says
Fabric Me!
My name isn’t really anything special, but I was almost Mallory, and my best friend is Mallory, and was almost Megan. Pretty funny.
Katie says
FABRIC ME!
My parents let my sisters, then 8 and 11, choose my name with one caveat: it had to start with a K. We’re all K-names. So of course they named me after a girl from their school.
I like it but people tend to believe it’s a nickname and assume I’m actually a Katrina or Catherine.
Casey says
FABRIC ME!
I was named after Mattel’s Casey doll – one of Barbie’s friends in the ’60s. You can see her here: http://www.myvintagebarbies.com/casey-twiggy.htm
Jolene says
FABRIC ME!
My mother always loved the name Jolene (name of a little girl she knew when growing up). It’s meaning is ‘she will increase’…. I didn’t always like it, it’s uncommon and people think I’m saying Julien. Also people often ask if I’m a man stealer – Thanks Dolly Parton! Now i love my name for being uncommon. This is timely as my name has been on my mind latey. Im a newly wed still getting used to the new full name, Ive been saying it constantly as it became legal this week. I was sad at first, as was my dad, but it means my husband and I are starting our own family – we soon get to pick names for our children! What’s in a name indeed! :)
Abigail S. says

Stacy says
FABRIC ME!
My parents were expecting a boy, so they didn’t have a girl named picked out. I was without a name for a day because my mom and dad couldn’t agree on anything. My mom had a dream with the name Stacy in it, and they finally agreed!
Gillian says
Fabric me!
Yadi says
FABRIC ME…My parents thought someday we’d be moving back to Puerto Rico and saddled me with a name that confuses EVERYONE! The Y sounds like a J but everyone pronounces it with a y sound. I’ve always wished for a nice, easy pronouncable-on-the-first-try name.
Marie says
Fabric Me!
I’m named after my great aunt Marie :)
Deborah says
Fabric me!!!
Natalie says
FABRIC ME!
My parents were Natalie Cole fans. My dad soon dubbed me “night-owl-lie” during my sleepless nights as a baby, which has ultimately resulted in an impressive collection of owl-themed gifts that multiples every holiday and birthday…especially now with the owl trend of recent years!
My husband is not pleased…
