JOSS ME!
Our luckiest moment was definitely when we had just gotten married, and we started to put the word out that we wanted to move out of my husband’s home and into a bigger place. My great-Uncle, who lived in the same town, got wind of this, and decided that it would be the perfect time for him to move out of his 1908 fixer-upper, on one of the most pretty, historical streets in town, and into a studio apartment. !!!! As you might expect, we bought the house from him and have been ripping down damaged plaster ever since! haha! It’s been a ton of work, and there’s plenty of “ugly” to remedy, but we feel so lucky. :)

JOSS ME (please)!
We couldn’t be more unlucky right now…..we have found our dream house – a 90 year old bungalow in the sweetest neighborhood and all in our price range…but we can’t sell our current house….and are about to switch realtors as a last ditch effort.
We have been waiting over 3 years to be matched with our second child through adoption and were finally matched and named her a word that means luck in her culture…..and just found out we will wait potentially another 6 more months to meet her missing her first birthday and it will all cost us more.
Our 14+ year old dog also had an accident on our new hardwood floors yesterday and so now the wood is warping in that spot.
No luck here…..nothing. :)

Joss me! My luckiest decorating moment was when we realized our enormous couch was too big for our new home’s living room we found our new sectional at a yard sale on the way home from consigning our old one. And the price was right: there was only $30 difference between what we paid and what we got for the old couch!

luckiest home story was winning the bidding war on the one (and only) house for sale in the area we really wanted to live in. It was a foreclosure and (also to our luck) in great condition. Perfect timing.

We were so lucky finding our current home. I found it on the realtors website. We were not really looking in that area and decided to go ahead and see it just for fun. We initally were not sold on it because it wasnt the exact location we wanted but after thinking it over we went for it. I am SO glad we did. We absolutely love where we live now and the location is perfect for us.

My luckiest score were 2 bamboo end tables that were siting curbside that I snatched up, spray painted a great navy color, and now serve as plant stands on my deck!

My luckiest “home moment” was when my husband and I purchased our home two years ago. We saw the house, loved it, and learned there were already 2 offers on it! God must really love us because our offer was accepted over the others! :-)

My luckiest home improvement came when we were renovating my kitchen. The wall paper from the 70’s was actually really easy to get off because the glue was so brittle.

We scored a big thick glass top for our coffee table for only $25 on craigslist! I hunted for one for at least a month, but it was lucky that someone agreed to sell just the glass and not the whole table!

Our stroke of luck was finding out that the former tenant was selling her: huge sofa, comfy armchair, mod white desk, adorable white parsons chair, and FIVE area rugs. We made our offer, dreamed about how great it would be to not have to buy AND move all of those things, and crossed our fingers…
And we got all of that for $300! :)

We were super blessed and lucky to get our new house. We were living in a tiny townhouse with a baby that was just learning to walk, which made the stairs a no no. My mother-in-law heard about this cute, great priced home and a few months later we were lucky enough to own it!!!

I have yet to get my Joss on, but I keep my eyes peeled for those moments! It would be awesome if we could sell our house for what we list when we put it on the market in the next year!
Betsy says
JOSS ME! Our luckiest find may be that we scored an extra-long, deep, gray wingback style Bernhardt sofa (that looks just like a Restoration Hardware sofa) at the Bernhardt outlet in Hickory, NC, for about $2000 less than it would have originally retailed for. I love it, and it’s the focal point of our living room!

JOSS ME! A few years back my mom picked up a rocker and a chair for the side of the road. She gave them to me when we bought our house. We have had the chairs for a few years now, yesterday i was moving them to a different room and noticed they had a Limberts Arts and Craft Furniture logo/tag engraved under the arm rest. Come to find out the chairs are worth $1000 a piece!! we love them and will never part with them, but its still pretty cool!

Luckiest moment. Saw our dream house online for sale. Decided not to try and sell our house yet. Dream house disappeared. 5 months later, dream house reappeared. We listed our house it sold in 9 days and we put an offer in our dream house. It was a short sale, but 2 months later we found out it was ours!!!!!

I had a lucky moment recently — I wanted a faux piece of coral for the guest bathroom and lo and behold, Kohls had one on a great sale. That NEVER happens to me (mostly b/c I am way too indecisive about decor so rooms just sit half-done)…I was pretty excited about it. :)

I don’t know that I have had any lucky home or decor moments. I guess finding out that the previous owners of our house fought with the builder and won, resulting in new electrical and plumbing. Otherwise, we would have been stuck with the bill ourselves…

What a lovely little site — I think our luckiest home-related mishap was all about timing. We were let out of a lease at the exact moment our current place went up and we knew it was meant to be. All was a whirlwind but completely worth it.

Joss me! We lucked out finding our place. It was my favorite listing but by the time we called it had already been rented out. We kept looking and looking and didn’t find anything else as nice until lo and behold our place became available!

I think our luckiest home moment was when we decided to check out a house that was smaller than we had previously been looking at and found it was just right for us.
