He’s here!

We’re thrilled to introduce the newest member of our family, baby Teddy!

On Wednesday, April 16th at 8:51 am, Theodore Freeman Petersik was born wielding a tiny drill weighing in at 8 lbs on the dot and measuring 19.5 inches long. We’re crazy in love with him, including Clara who just can’t stop kissing and snuggling “her baby.” Especially when he whimpers or coos, it becomes her personal mission to soothe him.

Teddy was named after my dad’s dad Theodore (who went by Teddy his entire life) and his middle name honors John’s maternal grandfather (Freeman is John’s middle name too). Teddy is already proving to be a little spitfire like his sister, although he came into the world a lot less dramatically, for which we’re eternally grateful. We’re both so relieved and overjoyed that he’s healthy and here in our arms.

Thank you all so much for the love, kind words, good vibes, prayers, and well-wishes that you’ve sent our way throughout this pregnancy. The c-section delivery went flawlessly and I’m feeling great, so it’s a nice contrast from my last rodeo. Our little family of five (Burger counts!) has never felt so blessed.

Speaking of Burger, we’ll be in the hospital through this weekend, so he has yet to meet his newest bestie/crumb provider (he’s at our house with the grandparents, being spoiled to no end), but we’re sure they’ll be fast friends. We hope to be back to blogging on Monday when we’re home, albeit on a slower schedule. Until then, we’ll leave you with this:

    Congrats! Love the family name. My little baby boy turned one yesterday. They share a birthday :). Love the name and the family ties. My little guy also has a name with meaning. My grandpa’s name was Hugh and we named my son Hudson, which means “son of Hugh”. We lost my grandpa this January and I am really grateful that he has that little piece of him. I’m relieved that delivery went better. Those scheduled c/s sure beat the traumatic ones. Been there, done that. Enjoy your little ones! The best part of baby #2 is watching the two of them fall in love!

    So glad that he entered the world safely! He is adorable and you all look so happy. Take care and enjoy your time as a family. We will all keep on reading whenever you come back to us! (I love the name and am always glad to see folks using family names—all three of my grands are named for family members and it is so neat for everyone.) A C-section is a bit easier to recover from than labor and a C-section, just take it a bit at a time!

    I think he looks just like John, but with Sherry’s hair ;) He’s absolutely beautiful, and I’m so happy for everyone in your entire family. Cannot WAIT to see what adventures he gets up to with Clara, mwahaha. Cheers!

    (p.s. my favorite little dude in my life – my Pomeranian – is named Teddy Bear. So clearly, I approve of the name and I’m ever-more-convinced you people are my spirit animals, hahaha)

    Congratulations on Teddy! God’s Blessings to your family. I have a 7 week old boy who also played a lot nicer during his c-section delivery than his 2 year old sister did! So nice when things go more as planned (just like DIY projects!!)

    Congrats! My stepson is a Ted (went by Teddy when young), but it’s short for Edward. Boys are so much fun … but do start stockpiling food now, for those teenage years O_O lol
