We’re thrilled to introduce the newest member of our family, baby Teddy!
On Wednesday, April 16th at 8:51 am, Theodore Freeman Petersik was born wielding a tiny drill weighing in at 8 lbs on the dot and measuring 19.5 inches long. We’re crazy in love with him, including Clara who just can’t stop kissing and snuggling “her baby.” Especially when he whimpers or coos, it becomes her personal mission to soothe him.
Teddy was named after my dad’s dad Theodore (who went by Teddy his entire life) and his middle name honors John’s maternal grandfather (Freeman is John’s middle name too). Teddy is already proving to be a little spitfire like his sister, although he came into the world a lot less dramatically, for which we’re eternally grateful. We’re both so relieved and overjoyed that he’s healthy and here in our arms.
Thank you all so much for the love, kind words, good vibes, prayers, and well-wishes that you’ve sent our way throughout this pregnancy. The c-section delivery went flawlessly and I’m feeling great, so it’s a nice contrast from my last rodeo. Our little family of five (Burger counts!) has never felt so blessed.
Speaking of Burger, we’ll be in the hospital through this weekend, so he has yet to meet his newest bestie/crumb provider (he’s at our house with the grandparents, being spoiled to no end), but we’re sure they’ll be fast friends. We hope to be back to blogging on Monday when we’re home, albeit on a slower schedule. Until then, we’ll leave you with this:
Look at all that hair!

commented earlier with a huge congratulations, but came back with a nagging (although minor) question. The picture of John and Teddy is precious, but I am assuming Sherry didn’t take it since she was recovering. For something like this do you have another friend/family member taking the keepsake photos?
YoungHouseLove says
Oh yeah I snapped that from my hospital bed (you can see the arm of the bed in the foreground of the pic). It was one of those beds with buttons that put it in a sitting up position (like you see from the pic of me and Teddy and Clara) so it was pretty simple. No standing or stretching required :)

Congrats!!! I am so happy for your beautiful family! :) I have a Theo too so I’m totally biased on the name. LOVE it!! And so glad you decided to slow life down a bit. Take time to enjoy life and your littles. They grow up too fast.

Gah! I’m so excited! Just came back from a trip overseas and after checking in with family and friends heading to this website was my very next move! Congratulations!

Oh my!! I want my own Teddy as soon as possible! So precious.

Hi! Was just wondering if you guys were still using the straight to crib method for Teddy? I know you said it worked like a charm for Clara (although it seems like Teddy might be a bit more excited at night :))and I have been thinking about what we are going to try to do with our baby. Thanks!
YoungHouseLove says
Yes, we are doing our best with that, although he has a lot more alert time at night, so sometimes he’s in my arms, John’s arms, nursing in our bed, etc. We’re getting there though… I think! Haha!

Congrats guys! I’ve congratulated you before but I need to say it again here :) Are you CDing Teddy yet? I’m about to start with my 8MO (got tired of the waste) and I was wondering how it was going with your boy. I don’t know if he’s grown into your CD yet. My apologies if you’ve answered this elsewhere! My friend told me boys are more forceful with the pee than girls so it’s a bit different.

We haven’t switched over yet, but I can’t wait to see his cute buns in cloth!
