Now Expanding

We’re excited to announce that the Petersik family is under construction again. Yup, someone’s gonna be a big sister… and she’s pretty darn excited about it.

The proverbial bun in Sherry’s oven is scheduled to arrive in April, and we’re both elated to be growing.

Sherry’s first trimester wasn’t without a few trials (a fender bender that had us worried for a bit and some pretty intense morning all-day sickness for the lady-wife to name a few) but we’re so grateful that all signs point to a healthy little bun so far. Given Clara’s birth complications, this pregnancy falls in the high risk category (more on that here and here), but we were excited to reach the safe-to-share milestone so we could spill the happy news to friends and family this weekend (conveniently while Nonna was in town). And now we get to share it with you guys!

Since you’re a curious bunch, we figured we’d answer your questions in a follow-up post on Friday like we did the first time we told the interwebs we were having a kid. So ask away, and we’ll answer as much as we can at the end of the week. Until then, I’m gonna get back to working on the sunroom and Sherry’s going to do her darndest to keep her breakfast down, probably while painting something.

    AHHHHHHHHHHH congratulations to you guys! You and Katie Bower get to be preggers together! I’m just as happy for you guys as I would be for my real friends!     I didn’t realize I could be so happy for 2 people I don’t even know. You could possibly be baking another future husband or wife for the 3rd Bower kid, haha! Would love to know if you think this baby will go by “Bean/Beansie” throughout the pregnancy or if you will reserve that special nickname just for Clara. Also, how did you tell John, your family, Clara?! So many questions…so much excitement! If that little baking babe only knew that people all over the world are already so excited about him/her. :)

    So thrilled for you guys!! Question – how did you decide what OBGYN to work with for a high-risk pregnancy? My doctor says I will be considered a high-risk pregnancy when the time comes, and I don’t know how to go about finding a good OBGYN to work with. Any suggestions would be so great! Thanks!

    Congratulations!

    My daughter is a little over 4 years older than my son, and we love it.
    My daughter was really helpful when my son was born- she was able to hand me burp cloths, diapers, etc., and she was really good at keeping herself and her brother entertained.
    They also play really well together which surprised me.
    I hope the rest of the pregnancy is smooth sailing.

    Awwww, YAY! That’s awesome news, excited for Baby Petersik #2. Question (feel free not to answer if it’s too nosy): you posted your “State of the Uterus” in March; were you planning your expansion then? Just curious if that was done in anticipation of not wanting to disclose for the first trimester?

    I already left a congrats post but I thought if a few questions for Fridays blog post! Did you have to keep baby #2 a secret from Clara so she wouldn’t spill the beans? How did you tell her? Is it in camera? Will you be doing weekly belly shots? How will the second baby change the blog? Have you guys ever thought if hiring an assistant to help write posts and answer comments?? Do you think it’s innivitable that one day the two of you won’t be able to handle all the work alone?? Can’t wait for Fridays post!!!!

    Congrats! So sorry about the morning sickness. I suffered from Hyperemesis Gravidarum which is just a fancy word for the worst kind of morning sickness ever. If your looking for some relief I found mommy pops to help a little as well as zofran. There’s also tons of great advice to be found on http://www.helpher.org. Good luck with your pregnancy! I hope your feeling much better soon.

    I knew you had to be due soon because I am expecting too. ;) Seriously, every single milestone in my life is almost identical to yours. It almost weirds me out. We got married at the same time, moved into new homes at the same time, had our first daughter a month before you did, and now are pregnant with the second a month apart (I am due in March). Congratulations! And I hear you on the illness, I have had hyperemesis with both pregnancies and it’s killer! I look forward to seeing your nursery plans!

    When I saw this post link on Facebook, I nearly jumped out of my chair to run and tell someone. Then I realized if I had to explain that bloggers I love reading are having a baby, my coworkers might look at me funny.

    So instead I just did a little dance at my desk, and my coworkers still looked at me funny.

    Congratulations!!! What a very exciting time for the three of you. I have enjoyed watching Clara grow up on the blog and will look forward to the new addition. I have 2 boys, 3 years apart in age, and there is nothing more rewarding as a parent than to see the relationship between siblings, especially when that relationship becomes a friendship!     Im due in April too! This is our first and I will be so happy to be out of the first trimester next Tuesday. Officially due the 15th. So excited for you guys! Congrats. :)
    Cant wait to see all your fun nursery ideas. Will you be finding out if its a boy or girl?

    Ahhhhh CONGRATULATIONS!!! I had a feeling you might be with the limit of lower body shots on the blog over the last few months! Obviously not a ton to show early on! Never been so excited for complete strangers (well other than the Bowers) in my life!! You’ll be getting prayers for a safe delivery from the mitten :) :) excited to see your family grow!!!
