Now Expanding

We’re excited to announce that the Petersik family is under construction again. Yup, someone’s gonna be a big sister… and she’s pretty darn excited about it.

The proverbial bun in Sherry’s oven is scheduled to arrive in April, and we’re both elated to be growing.

Sherry’s first trimester wasn’t without a few trials (a fender bender that had us worried for a bit and some pretty intense morning all-day sickness for the lady-wife to name a few) but we’re so grateful that all signs point to a healthy little bun so far. Given Clara’s birth complications, this pregnancy falls in the high risk category (more on that here and here), but we were excited to reach the safe-to-share milestone so we could spill the happy news to friends and family this weekend (conveniently while Nonna was in town). And now we get to share it with you guys!

Since you’re a curious bunch, we figured we’d answer your questions in a follow-up post on Friday like we did the first time we told the interwebs we were having a kid. So ask away, and we’ll answer as much as we can at the end of the week. Until then, I’m gonna get back to working on the sunroom and Sherry’s going to do her darndest to keep her breakfast down, probably while painting something.

    How exciting! Congrats! All the most positive energy possible is being sent your way on my part for a healthy, stress-limited (stress free seems a bit unreasonable of a term in regards to pregnancies and kids) pregnancy and baby!

    Congratulations!! My husband and I were hoping to tackle two major bathroom renos this year, but SURPRISE, we are now expecting our first child at the end of February! Between both of us working full time, and my complete exhaustion since about week 4, we have accomplished very little over the summer. Now that the weather’s cooling down, my husband plans to start on the first bathroom. SO my question for you guys is, Sherry, how do you know when to draw the line with helping tackle these big projects? Are there certain things you won’t do now that you’re pregnant, or extra precautions that you take? I’d like to help with the renovating but feel I’ll be of little use generally..

    I remember that post about, “Hey! Leave us alone about another baby, would ya?” so that’s why I figured there was no mention in the latest video, but I had a sneaking suspicion that there was more than meets the eye! Congrats guys! I’m having baby fever for my second! (Ours is already 20 months old!)

    That’s funny. When Katie B. posted on Instagram about her smashed new phone I read it twice with the mention of the blood test thinking you were pregnant. Then I realized you were saying it to her and got worried! Anyway, Congratulations. Excited for you and Katie B!

    Great news!! Congratulations to all of you! I am excited that Clara is old enough that she will be able to be a big helper! I am 3.5 years older than my brother and I have some memories of when he was a little toddler, looking up to me. I am glad Clara will be able to have those, too! :)

    Oh my gosh, that is HUGE news!!!! So happy for you guys! I’m sure it’s not gonna be 100% peace of mind until the bean is safely out, after Clara’s birth story… All I can say is, I hope you can still enjoy the prego months, I think you’re in for a lot of love and happiness!
    And of course, I cannot wait to see the nursery come together! But that’s not nearly as important a project as the baby itself, so make sure you take care of the family first, the readers can wait ;)
