Now Expanding

We’re excited to announce that the Petersik family is under construction again. Yup, someone’s gonna be a big sister… and she’s pretty darn excited about it.

The proverbial bun in Sherry’s oven is scheduled to arrive in April, and we’re both elated to be growing.

Sherry’s first trimester wasn’t without a few trials (a fender bender that had us worried for a bit and some pretty intense morning all-day sickness for the lady-wife to name a few) but we’re so grateful that all signs point to a healthy little bun so far. Given Clara’s birth complications, this pregnancy falls in the high risk category (more on that here and here), but we were excited to reach the safe-to-share milestone so we could spill the happy news to friends and family this weekend (conveniently while Nonna was in town). And now we get to share it with you guys!

Since you’re a curious bunch, we figured we’d answer your questions in a follow-up post on Friday like we did the first time we told the interwebs we were having a kid. So ask away, and we’ll answer as much as we can at the end of the week. Until then, I’m gonna get back to working on the sunroom and Sherry’s going to do her darndest to keep her breakfast down, probably while painting something.

    A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to you guys. All I can say is take it day by day. I dont remember going thru to bad of “morning” sickness… just getting sick if i smelled chinese food… and loving my pizza (pepperoni with jalapenos please)……

    Baaaaaaaaaaaah! So very, very excited for you guys! I’m due with my first on April 1, and I couldn’t be more excited to follow along with you guys! Particularly since I’ve read EVERY SINGLE one of your relevant post from the first time!! I can’t wait for some nursery inspiration too! When are you due? Are you going to find out the gender again? So very excited for you and sending thoughts of positive thoughts for a HEALTHY, uneventful pregnancy!

    I was just reading your blog yesterday about people continually asking you when you’re going to have another baby and I was equally as frustrated since my family keeps asking me and that stage of my life is not going as planned. Thanks for blogging about those trials and for the inspiration you provide.

    I’m expecting my fifth any day and I can totally relate to all the anxiety that comes with previous complications. Hang in there, Sherry and enjoy the ride as much as you can. It’s always all worth it, in the end.

      Ditto to the above questions… So happy for you all and wishing you all the best for a smooth pregnancy. I have two a girl and then a boy and one pregnancy/delivery dramatic the other smooth sailing.

      My question is how will a second child impact your blog load and are planning on making adjustments with two kiddos.

      Also, I saw the link in regard to your “tummy” WOW so stupid, you have some real creepers I looked at the same pics and didn’t even notice anything but I don’t try to study them that hard. Sorry you had to go through that. At least the questions will stop about your belly and you can let it hang out now!!! Congrats again!

      Great questions and I completely agree with Heather about the photoshopping thread. I got really mad for you guys so I can only imagine how you were feeling about it. I would approve a few of those comments too to let your readers put those nasty people in their place, you shouldn’t have to be seething behind the scenes.

    Congratulations!! :) What terrific news! I have two only child Aries myself (hubby and daughter), which is a special treat for a Cancer LOL. I have April 17 (dd) or 19 (dh) in the pool!

    First of all, congrats on your growing family!!

    I really enjoyed your posts about Clara’s baby gear and cloth diapering. I would love to see a follow-up post about what worked and what didn’t work (and what y’all plan on buying/registering for this time).
