Now Expanding

We’re excited to announce that the Petersik family is under construction again. Yup, someone’s gonna be a big sister… and she’s pretty darn excited about it.

The proverbial bun in Sherry’s oven is scheduled to arrive in April, and we’re both elated to be growing.

Sherry’s first trimester wasn’t without a few trials (a fender bender that had us worried for a bit and some pretty intense morning all-day sickness for the lady-wife to name a few) but we’re so grateful that all signs point to a healthy little bun so far. Given Clara’s birth complications, this pregnancy falls in the high risk category (more on that here and here), but we were excited to reach the safe-to-share milestone so we could spill the happy news to friends and family this weekend (conveniently while Nonna was in town). And now we get to share it with you guys!

Since you’re a curious bunch, we figured we’d answer your questions in a follow-up post on Friday like we did the first time we told the interwebs we were having a kid. So ask away, and we’ll answer as much as we can at the end of the week. Until then, I’m gonna get back to working on the sunroom and Sherry’s going to do her darndest to keep her breakfast down, probably while painting something.

    BAJILLIONS of congrats to you two!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck with the all-day sickness sherry… i know ginger tea and ginger candy all-day helped my sister when she was preggo- hope you find something that makes is a little better!!

    Congrats!! What exciting news! Found out recently that we’re expecting #2, also in April. And our son is just a month younger than Clara, so I will be stoked to keep up with your baby/sibling news. Yay!!

    I think someone else said it, but I’ve never been so happy for complete strangers before! I loved following your journey to Clara’s birth and even bought the same cloth diapers after reading that post. We just had our second in august, but had to buy new diapers because the old ones had a ton of holes in them! How have yours held up and do you plan to use them for this baby? We ended up buying the newest bumgenius free time all in ones and love them!

    HOLY MACKEREL AM I EXCITED! Congratulations you guys! I hate to say it, but I totally just *knew*. I’ve had a feeling for a few weeks and I’m pretty stoked that I was right. Here are some questions that I’m sure everyone else will ask: Did you have a feeling before you found out? Does Sherry have any mother’s intuition with regards to gender yet (are you going to find out before the birth)? How did you tell Clara and how did she take it? How did Sherry tell John? I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS oh my goodness. Can you tell I’m excited or what?

    I am irrationally excited for you guys! Having two of our own (our little guy is 6 months and our big sis is around Clara’s age) makes me feel even more happiness for you knowing how much fun it is having two.     CONGRATS!!! I’m thrilled for you guys, and seeing as how I’m in my 8th month (blows greasy hair out of face while holding back and internally cursing) I may have gotten a little weepy for you. THis is our second as well :) But Sherry, do you know what the most amazing part of this is? NOW EVERYONE CAN SHUT THE H-E-DOUBLE HOCKEY STICK UP ABOUT WHAT’S HAPPENING TO YOUR BODY! No more speculation if you’re preggers girl! No more having to worry about giving it away in photos, or having jerks try and weasel the info out. Do a happy dance, albeit a slow not so energetic one haha.

    I was following the blog back before Clara was even in the picture, so I know that you will have apprehensive and scared moments because of what happened with her birth. I’d say try and relax and enjoy, but I know how I would be and it is the exact same. So when those moments come, just try and find a way to center yourself, and know that you have a huge support system that you’ve never even met. And yayyyyy nursery posts! Whenever they may be, before or after bean is born :) Love to you all.

    Awwww that’s so great. So happy for you, especially after all of the speculation on #2 that you had to deal with. (And I’m just realizing that you and your BFF are pregnant at the same time. So much fun!)

    I’m due in February with my first and can sympathize with that all-day sickness. Hope you’re feeling better now or will be soon!

    Hooooooooray!! I’m a little concerned at how excited I am by this news, haha! I started following you guys about 6 months ago and I feel like it was the perfect time!     hang in there with the sickness..i was sick in almost all my trimesters with my kids :( its sooo hard!!! but at least you are at home and not in office :)
